The Darfur Now College Tour Gets the Message Out to College Students About the Genocide in Darfur.

The Darfur Now College Tour is presenting their first screening to help start getting students involved in create awareness of the genocide in Darfur. The DVD will be released May 27, 2008. The next day, May 28, 2008, The Darfur Now College Tour and screening will be at the University of California Los Angeles. The Warner Independent Pictures film will be shown as well as showcasing musical performances by Ok Go, Rock & Roll, Rhymefest, Zion 1, Nico Vega, Arepa, Star Afrisound, and Ana Dim Mak.

Darfur Now was written as well as directed by Ted. He had the opportunity of exploring all the conflicts in Darfur through the eyes of Don Cheadle, Hejewa Adam, Pablo Recalde, Ahmed Mahmoud Abaker, Louis Moreno-Ocampo, and Adam.

Why Darfur: To create awareness of the genocide in Darfur and offer ways for students to get involved. The tour is in conjunction with the DVD release (May 27th) of the film DARFUR NOW produced by Don Cheadle and Participant Media. The tour stops will consist of a speaker, a screening of the film and after event featuring live music. Proceeds will go to STAND to assist in stopping the horrific conditions in Darfur.

What Else: STAND and Participant Media are proud to sponsor a nationwide tour of the critically acclaimed new documentary, Darfur Now, which will be available on DVD May 27th. Five schools around the country, chosen for their outspoken efforts to fight genocide, will host a special screening of Darfur Now and a concert to raise awareness, funds, and send the message that NOW is the time to end genocide in Darfur
