Shavo Odadjian, System of a Down bassist, has launched his cannabis, streetwear, and music company, 22Red.
The 22Red lab-tested, compliant cannabis line features lab-tested pre-rolls with special hard to find strains such as 22OG.
Most recently, the lifestyle brand collaborated with cannabis company Wonderbrett, to drop what some consider “the best, crispest, stickiest and sweetest strain on the streets of LA.” Now 22Red x Wonderbrett has premiered at COOKIES MELROSE
I asked Shavo what drew him to these particular strains:
“One of the strains was Church 22, and in ’96… 22 years ago, there was a strain that we smoked and it smelled like frankincense, and it had a nice high that wasn’t so strong but it was still really good– and I’ve been looking for it for the last 22 years and a few months ago we came across it through an amazing grower friend of mine.
The one we dropped today, exclusively at Cookies, the Pineapple OG, is a collab we did with Wonderbrett. Brett’s an amazing grower from 20 years ago, and he’s one of the first people to bring OG Kush to California.. to grow it in California. So when I went to visit him a few months back, I loved every flower but I was specifically drawn to the Pineapple OG which he said it was actually the first time he’s ever grown that one, and why not make it our collab? I said.. bring it!
So with my love and my heart, he grew that one perfect, so we’re kind of blasting it out for him and it’s kind of our original strain. It’s an Indica-dominant hybrid and it’s really nice. It’s good for after 5 p.m. when you’re chilling and it’s not strong like a real crazy OG but it’s got that vibe. It’s for pain and relaxation. Cannabis really is the alternative for everything.
Especially CBD, if you get a good dosage, which we’ll be launching in a few weeks.”
There will be two types of pens, available in THC and CBD. The 0.3 gram CBD pen consists of clear crystals that melt after one puff and provides the strongest quality of cannabidiol. The half-gram THC pens will be available in three flavors; 22OG, Church22 and Pineapple OG.
The vape pens will be available at participating Southern California dispensaries in February, including Compassionate City Caregivers and COOKIES MELROSE.
