Wednesday, November 17th 2010 – Ford announced their partnership with Olympic Gold Medal winning skier Jonny Moseley and the creators of The Amazing Race in their upcoming interactive reality show venture, “Focus Rally: America”.

Focus Rally: America will feature five weeks of interactive reality show entertainment from Ford and multiple Emmy award winning producer Elise Doganieri, along with the sleek style of the 2012 Ford Focus.

Moseley, the host of Focus Rally: America, brings to the table a history of hosting and television experience.

Jonny Moseley

Jonny Moseley is the perfect choice to host Focus Rally: America. He is our Focus target customer… Jonny embodies the adventurous and plugged-in lifestyle of our consumers while being down-to-earth and easy to relate to,” says Jeff Eggen, Ford’s Experiential Marketing Manager.

Moseley has been a commentator for the X Games on ESPN, host of Battle of the Sexes on MTV, host of NBC’s Saturday Night Live, and a judge on ABC’s Master of Champions. Recently, he was named a celebrity participant for ABC’s upcoming primetime show Skating with the Stars.

“I’m very excited to be involved in something as breakthrough as Focus Rally,” says Moseley, “The audience interactivity in this program takes reality television and online gaming to a level that has never been done before.”

The race itself promises to be an exciting adventure across America. Six teams of two people will be selected to compete against one another in this high stakes cross-country race. They’ll rely on the support of friends, fans, and followers to help complete challenges as they make their way to the finish, all in hopes of winning a grand prize of $100,000 and two brand new 2012 Ford Focus.

But don’t think that fans will be left out of the winnings: eight additional Ford Focus will be awarded to fans and followers of Focus Rally: America.

Interactivity

Focus Rally: America will bring an unprecedented level of interactivity to followers of the show. Viewers can play from home in a variety of ways, including pledging support to a specific team, and assisting that team live via social media tools.

On each team’s website, fans can view exclusive photos, videos, tweets, and uploads. In addition, fans will hear first hand stories about the performance of the 2012 Ford Focus from the contestants. Players will utilize Focus’s state-of-the-art technology – such as Ford SYNC, MyFord Touch, and the Ford Navigation System – to complete tasks and challenges.

The 2012 Ford Focus

What separates Focus Rally: America from other reality shows is the level of interactivity. Fans will literally be able to watch the race and challenges, live, as they happen. For those who want a chance to check out the 2012 Ford Focus, you’ll have the rare opportunity to welcome your team into your city as the show rolls through.

Hulu

Focus Rally: America will run for five weeks, with webisodes streaming on Hulu, and additional content shared in real time on YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter.

If participating online isn’t enough for you, Focus Rally: America is still casting! Adventurous, socially vibrant people are invited to apply until Monday, November 22nd.

The final open casting call will be held on Saturday, November 20th, at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
