4 Sports To Help You Get Active This Spring

Sports are a fun way to get in shape. If you’re looking for fun activities to restart your fitness journey this spring, here are four to check out.

Remaining active throughout the year can be challenging for many of us. There are lots of activities to do. But with busy schedules, you may hardly have any time to go and try out new fitness classes, sports, and other activities. How about hitting the restart button this spring by trying one of these four sports to help you get active? Here are the sports to try this spring.

Rugby

Rugby is a fun sport to try. While no professional leagues exist in the US, it’s a popular recreational activity among young and older adults. People sometimes compare rugby to American football, but both have different sets of rules. The sport is a little rougher and more complicated to play, but if you like a challenge, this could be one to try after a long day at work.

Soccer

Soccer, or football, is an international favorite. Rain or shine, this sport is playable anywhere. Finding a league or creating your own isn’t difficult, and many in the neighborhood may be eager to join. Some may want to do other jobs, such as finding locations, picking a spot to meet after a game for a late-night meal, and supplying soccer gear.

Biking

Biking is a fun way to get in shape. It’s something you could do by yourself or with a group. It’s even great to relieve stress from work (we all can agree to that). Spring offers many chances to get out and explore the town before it gets too hot outside to do a lot.

Pickleball

Pickleball isn’t about playing with ball-shaped pickles. Though that would be fun, it’d be too messy. Pickleball is an exciting game that’s similar to tennis, except you play with a different court size, rules, and equipment. The courts tend to be smaller, and the paddles are also smaller. However, this sport is more accessible than tennis. It’s easy to learn how to play pickleball because the rules are simple to understand. For example, the ball must hit the playing surface once before you score a point. This is called the double-bounce rule.

You have so many sports to try out this year. As the weather gets warmer, start scoping out the activities currently offered near you. These sports will help you get active this spring.
