Are you quarantined in place and can’t wait to get out and have some outdoor fun? Well, your wait might be shorter than you think! You can check out these fun ideas that will help you have a lot of fun in your backyard right now.

Make a Fairy Garden

Spring is the perfect time to play with greenery, so why not start gardening? If you have young kids at home, they will certainly love to help you create a magical fairy garden. This project will get all of you outside, practice your imagination, and even get you to break a sweat (gardening can be demanding). If you need some inspiration, look at your kids’ favorite fairytale books or just search the internet for some cute photos.

Play Some Golf

If you love to swing your golf club but your favorite golf club is closed, don’t worry. You can practice your putting skills at home if you create a small golf course in your background. In case you don’t want anything permanent in your yard, you can create some obstacles out of everyday items and place a cup instead of a hole. But, if your definition of happiness is getting out of bed and practicing your putts in your PJs every day, you can create a permanent private course.

Create a Playground For Kids

If your kids are getting restless in the house due to all that energy they have nowhere to direct, it’s time to make a fun playground for them. Start with a backyard jungle gym for kids that will provide them with hours and hours of healthy play. Physical activity is great for kids and it will give you some time to relax and unwind while they run around. There are even jungle gym models with slider or swings, so fun is guaranteed. Of course, even though these are designed for kids, it’s best to keep an eye on youngsters while playing just to be sure.

Splash Around in Your Makeshift Pool

If the weather permits, you can enjoy some refreshments by grabbing some hay bales and creating a makeshift pool. Arrange them in a circle or a rectangle, place a tent cover over the bales, and finally fill it with water. This solution is nothing permanent, but both you and your kids can have a lot of splashing fun for a day. If you really miss the beach, place some lounging chairs and parasols around the pool and you’ll enjoy the seaside vibe right in your backyard.

Have a Picnic

Food tastes better when enjoyed outside anyway, so why not take your meal to your backyard. Organizing a picnic can be a last-minute idea, but a great way to relax with your family, eat well, and soak up the sun. if you have a backyard table, make sure to fill it with food and drinks, but if you don’t, a rug or a few blankets will do the trick.

Organize an Outdoor Movie Night

If you miss going to the cinema, why not bring the cinema to your backyard? Dust off your projector, grab a white sheet, some pillows, and popcorn, and play your favorite family movies. Shrek or Marvel superheroes are always a hit no matter the audience.

Have A Great Dinner on the Deck

A deck is a great place to spend time with your family and enjoy the outdoors. Decks also allow you to host small get-togethers with neighbors or close friends. The secret to a beautiful deck is the kind and quality of wood you use.

Composite decking is a popular choice among homeowners because it’s more cost-effective in the long run and easy to maintain but doesn’t look cheap. It gives off the look of natural wood even though it is made of either virgin or recycled wood and synthetic material.

Use these ideas to push through this tough period. If you stay in your backyard just a little bit longer (won’t be an issue with these ideas) expect to enjoy a full summer spent outside!
