In celebration of the 2017 American Music Awards nominees and presenters came out for the luxurious GBK Gifting Lounge in West Hollywood. Attendees such as Randy Jackson, Joey Lawrence, Bridgette Neilsen, Khandi Alexander and Sofia Milos were on hand to have a good time, help raise funds for charitable organizations, and check out new offerings from some of the most celebrated brands in the world.
Several charitable organizations were represented, taking the opportunity to educate attendees about the work they do. SPB is dedicated to eliminating the gap between disasters and recovery efforts. Route91strong.org is a resource for families affected by the recent spate of mass shootings in the U.S. Created following the Las Vegas shootings in October of this year, the group has broadened its outreach to include those impacted by other tragedies such as the church shooting in Texas. The mission of the Joyce and Michael Ohoven’s Hope for Children in Need is to help to make education available to underprivileged children around the globe. Rather than just sending money, Hope for Children in Need takes the direct approach. This 501c3 actually builds schools in areas where the need exists. Christmas is brighter for needy children in LA thanks to Baroness Kimberly Moore, the woman behind the Adopt A Letter program. Each year the program responds to letters to Santa written by children who are desperate for help. The Kimberly Moore Foundation has answered the letters of over 40,000 children in the LA area.
