Join the party and help support your local veteran! In memory of the 10th Anniversary of the World Trade Center tragedy, a portion of the Petersen Automotive Museum will be turned into The Swagger Poker Showdown to benefit Los Angeles’ veteran heroes on September 16th, 2011 at 7 pm. The proceeds from the Swagger sponsored poker party will go to the non-profit New Directions.

Swagger co-founders and Air Force veterans, Matt Richter-Sand and Bobby Lady realize that many of their fellow veterans returning home from service overseas have difficulties adapting to civilian life.  Matt explains, “Adjusting to civilian life is hard for so many veterans, especially those who have deployed to the war-zone.  We’re trying to help LA’s 8,000+ homeless (11% of homeless veterans nation-wide) get their lives back.”

Bobby continues, “Vietnam Veterans were left behind, so we have a lot of catching up to do while a whole new generation returns from ongoing wars.  I was impressed with the breadth of services New Directions offers, and it’s up to us to support them.”

The Swagger Poker Showdown, a No Limit Texas Hold ‘Em Charity Poker Tournament will begin at 7:00 pm with professional instructors offering crash courses in Poker, professional Vegas dealers and tables, premium open bar, celebrity players and more.  Tickets are $99.00 to play and $79.00 to party.  Cocktail attire is recommended and to purchase tickets go to www.SWAGGERPOKER.com
