Newcastle Brown Ale, created in 1927 by Colonel Jim Porter and known as the legendary “One & Only”, is kicking off the summer with the first of four limited editions brews. I had the fun job of going to a special tasting for the brand’s Summer Ale. It’s a light and refreshing ale that compliments the coming of the warm weather perfectly.
The Newcastle Summer Ale is a great pairing to BBQ’s and all of summer’s outdoor activities. It has just the right amount of citrus flavor with a light hop aroma. This beer may be limited in quantity, but certainly not in taste. Even though this brew will only be available for a limited time, I’m sure the readers will be happy to know, when one goes out, another will come in!
Newcastle Werewolf & Winter IPA
It’s so nice to get a “change of season” beer. It’s something to look forward to. Releasing for Fall, look for Newcastle’s Werewolf, a blood red style beer with a distinct flavor and a nice “bite”. As the weather gets colder, (and to us LA folk that may only mean 50 degrees), but still will love to bundle up just the same and enjoy Newcastle’s Winter IPA, it is zesty, with a creamy finish.
Newcastle Founder’s Ale
Lastly, in the limited editions, but possibly the most special is the Founder’s Ale, it’s an ode to heritage and the work of the 5 best brewers in the city. I’ll let this one speak for itself, got to leave some stuff to the imagination, right? They will all be available in 6 pack and 12 pack bottles as well as draught. I suggest stocking up!
