Wendy’s, one of America’s most popular fast food chains, continues to expand its original lineup of flavors, and just announced the addition of the new Asiago Ranch Chicken Club sandwich line to its menu. These sandwiches consist of aged Asiago cheese, thick-cut applewood smoked bacon and Wendy’s own classic chicken breasts. To keep variety as an option, the sandwich comes in three different styles: spicy, grilled and homestyle.

Each Asiago Ranch Chicken Club also contains these toppings: lettuce, tomatoes and a creamy ranch sauce, all served on a warm bun. Now, these items can be found at Wendy’s locations across the U.S.

“The club sandwich is an American classic,” said Ken Calwell, Wendy’s chief marketing officer. “Wendy’s Asiago Ranch Chicken Club is a modern twist on the classic club, created to satisfy consumers who crave bold flavors and unique ingredients, like Asiago cheese.”

The new Asiago Ranch Chicken Club is available three different ways to allow consumers to customize their meal. For consumers who crave heat, the spicy club tingles tastebuds with Wendy’s popular spicy chicken breast. For traditional tastes the grilled club is a lighter option, but with all of the bold flavor. Club lovers looking for crispy comfort food can opt for the homestyle chicken fillet to complete their club. The Asiago Ranch Chicken Club is available at a suggested price of $4.79. The new sandwich line is the latest addition to Wendy’s line of juicy, tender chicken sandwiches, which include the Ultimate Chicken Grill, Spicy Chicken Sandwich and Homestyle Chicken Fillet.

Here’s a little history of the cheese that makes the new sandwich. Asiago is a cow’s milk cheese that originated in Italy. The texture is generally firm to slightly creamy, depending on age. Asiago has been a trend-setting cheese for more than 10 years and continues to grow in popularity. Great Asiagos offer a balanced combination of sweet and nutty flavors with a pleasantly sharp finish. Like most cheeses made in the United States, Asiago originated in Europe, specifically Italy where it has been made for over one thousand years.
