Graham Hawkes, Creator of Deep Flight Winged Submersibles
“Everyone loves flying and flying underwater is even better than flying in air because there are things around you”, says Graham Hawkes, who unveiled Hawkes Ocean Technologies’ first winged submersible in the late 1990’s. Prior to his Deep Flight project, you might have seen Hawkes’ designs on the silver screen as he was responsible for the Deep Rover submersibles featured in James Cameron’s, “Aliens of the Deep”. His WASP and MANTIS Atmospheric Diving Suits as well as many of the vehicles originally built by Deep Ocean Engineering, have many times been used by the science industry for research purposes. But now Hawkes’ has submersed himself in the world of luxury. His company designs and builds submersibles for private clients, with an office located in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Party
If you want to experience Graham’s notion of the ultimate sea flight sensation, Lux 5 attendees will indeed be inducted into an experience of luxury and glamour. The tour will include the Ritz Carlton Club Runway produced by Celebrity stylist Victor Vargas, as well as four haute couture fashion shows featuring designs by Alessandro Dell’Acqua; Albino, Viktor & Rolf, 6267, and others presented by H Lorenzo; Raquel Allegra; and Vitamin A Swimwear. All the while, dancers and acrobats from renowned Ariel Productions will tantalize the crowd accompanied by the mixes of “Hollywood Disc Jockey to the Stars”, DJ Splyce.
Some of the luxury gadgets on display at the event will include the first-of–its-kind luxury plug-in hybrid sports sedan Eco-Chic. This auto features cutting edge, hybrid technology and was developed exclusively by Quantum Technologies for Fisker Automotive. For the seafarers in the crowd, the Sunseeker Predator Yacht, seen in many James Bond films, will also be on display, as well as more than 200 rare and exotic automobiles, yachts and helicopters owned by esteemed collectors. Invited guests will board FantaSea One, the largest private charter yacht in Los Angeles, and embark on a luxurious cruise around Marina Del Rey harbor.
