Fred Segal Mauro Caf? Hosts a Special Afternoon of Wine and Champagne Tasting

An afternoon of premium French wine tasting will be held at Fred Segal Mauro Caf? on June 28th.? Guiding a select group of wine connoisseurs through the experience will be Comtesse Michele Elyzabeth and the Caf?’s very own sommelier Evelyne Joan, who will provide detailed descriptions of each selection.?

The tasting will highlight eight imported Bordeaux wines and four different champagnes.? Each champagne will be from Comtesse Elyzabeth’s personal brand, whose full-bodied flavors, promises to turn anyone into a champagne lover.?

Ideal as an aperitif, the Champagne Cuvee Prestige Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru 1996 is 100% Chardonnay, made with grapes from the finest vineyards in “Cote Des Blancs,” that leaves the palate with a powerful floral and nutty aroma. With its characteristically fine bubbles the Champagne Brut Grand Cru is 100 % Chardonnay, perfect for any occasion with its long, fresh and smooth aroma. Grown on stony ground and powdered with fragrance of red fruits, the Champagne Brut Rose is 100% Pinot Noir and a favorite of champagne lovers. Finally, Champagne Brut Reserve is an ingenuous blend of 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir, made from grapes from the finest areas of Champagne: Vitney, Montgueux and Fravaux and is characterized by a sharp nose, strong and fruity with notes of brioche.

The special imported Bordeaux wines will redefine the tastes of the guests with their class, fullness and intensity. Ranging from the regions of Margaux Cru Bourgeois (Chateau Haut Breton Larigaurdiere), Saint Emilion (Chateau Terrasson “Clos d’Hortense,” Chateau Haut Rocher 2003 Grad Cru, Chateau Le Pavilion Du Haut Rocher 2003) and Cote de Castillon (Chateau Brehat,) to Graves (Chateau la Vieille France, Chateau Lesparre “Graves De vayres Blanc” 2005) and Bordeaux Superieur (Chateau Lacombe Cadiot,) all these carefully chosen red wines present some of the most fascinating combinations between Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Semillon, Muscadelle, etc.

Complimenting the hand selected wines and champagnes will be appetizers from Fred Segal Mauro Caf?’s Executive Chef Sergio Corbia.? As guests enjoy the different flavors and aromas of their vino, the Chef’s tuna tartare, along with a gourmet selection of Italian meats and cheeses will be made available to them.
