LA Phil presents Baroque Variations: Christopher Columbus: Lost Paradises with featured artists including Hesperion XXI and Jordi Savall.

Savall, a master viola da gamba player, along with his ensemble artists of singers and instrumentalists take you through Christopher Columbus’ journey and the impact. Music featured in the show will include Josquin, Cornago, Dufay, Encina, Bocanegra, Isaac, Mila, as well as some traditional Arabic music and villancicos.
Readings from Columbus, Ibn Battuta, Seneca, and Las Casas are also included in the evening’s entertainment.

As the fourth hall of the Los Angeles Music Center, The Walt Disney Concert Hall, which opened in the winter of 2003, is the home of the Los Angeles Master Chorale and the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra.
