In December of 1997, Studio 54 opened its doors in Las Vegas with eccentricity and flair by inviting Elton John to christen the club’s opening night, bringing back the phenomenan of Studio 54 where once again, people of all classes, races, cultures and genders can socialize under one roof without barriers.

Studio 54 features the most eclectic music mix around. DJ Frankie Anobile spins a range of music from house to top 40, bringing patrons on a voyage that transcends the last three decades. "People enjoy listening to a range of the original Studio 54 music, then move on to the top 40 pop music, and end the night with the newer progressive house beats", said Anobile.

MGM Grand President of Entertainment, Todd Dougall, with the help of DJ Frankie are able to set the vibe and trends. The club’s atmosphere combines the feel of industry and steel with luxury and leather, which can be found in Studio 54’s exclusive VIP area. Located on the second floor, the VIP section seats 165 people and features plush seating, an amazing new dance floor complete with the latest in lighting and sound technologies, premium spirits, champagne and cigars. Two rows of luxuries couches flank the VIP dance floor while sleek red granite bar accentuates the lush environment. The theme of Las Vegas’ Studio 54 suggests the same vibe as the original club, "Dress spectacular!". In Las Vegas, the city known for excess and overindulgence, Studio 54 has been a perfect fit.

Studio 54 has separated itself from other Las Vegas nightclubs by adding unique special effects and distinctive acts as part of the nightly scene. Special lighting is used to enhance smoke and hazers, moving arbors, and several hand-pulled line sets can change out scenery and hoist entertainers/props to the 46-foot ceiling within seconds.

Sporadically throughout the night, three beautiful women swing gracefully above the dance floor showering glitter on to the crowd below and leaving guests shocked and amazed. Throughout the night confetti drops happen, bungee jumpers, and extraordinary aerial acts performed by contortionist on a rope secured from the ceiling as well as wall walkers who stealthily climb their way up their personal dance pillar, which serve as the framework for the main dance floor.

Studio 54 has been a hotbed for famous acts, such as Prince and the Go-Go’s, to perform unannounced surprise sets before club-goers. My birthday celebration was no different. Flavor Flav arrived for his album release party wearing multiple gold rings and chains around his neck as well as his infamous large clock necklace. He was scantily clad from head to toe in a grey alligator suit and shoes. Flavor Flav proceeded to perform his single "Flavor Man" and further reinforce the reoccurring theme of Studio 54 with his moto "peace and unity equal power".

These innovative concepts have helped keep Studio 54 an eccentric unique nighttime event in Las Vegas. With such awards as "Best Place to Dance", "Best Night Club", "Favorite Bar", "Best Local Club DJ", and ‘Club of the Year" by Las Vegas Citylife Vesper awards, it’s no wonder the club has been such a huge success. The club has set trends for nightlife and Studio 54 has found itself a perfect match here in Las Vegas, which will last for years to come. Studio 54 is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 p.m. until the early morning hours. For more information and reservation call (702) 891-7254.
