Just after arriving in Las Vegas we set out immediately to the strip. Our fist stop was Tabu, which is located in the MGM Grand. “Tabu is about fashion, great music, being in a club and being entertained” said Gamal Aziz, MGM Grand President and chief Operating officer.

Designed by the incomparable architect, Jeffery Beers, Tabu is a distinct combination of modern fashion and refined style. With this captivating design, featuring, funky furniture, marble and wood floors and luxuries textures, guests are transported to a world in which their senses are stimulated and their thoughts intrigued. From dynamic images bouncing from every surface, to tables with reactive imagery, Tabu strokes each of the senses leaving everything to the imagination. The euphoric environment provides a relaxed type of excitement, which is great for either pre- or post- party cocktails.

The sophisticated environment, personalized service and comfortable level of European-influenced vocal house music encourages movement, mingling and dancing, even though there is no dance floor. With music ranging from classic lounge tunes with a twist, played earlier in the night to the more progressive vocal blends featured later in the evening, the electric music still allows guests to carry on conversations while taking in the scene.

If you are looking for a truly private place to invite a small group of friends to share a special celebration, this would a prime destination. It’s a sophisticated environment for a more mature demographic who still wants a night out in Vegas and to not fight the crowds. A great place for mellow socializing.

Unlike most nightclubs in Las Vegas, the VIP area is truly private, complete with separate bar and private restroom. Tabu has been voted “Best Lounge” by lounge systems international club awards, Las Vegas Epicurean awards, and Las Vegas Review three years in a row, as well as “Best visuals by club systems international club world.

Tabu is open Tuesday through Sunday at 10pm. Guests may make table reservations complete with fine bottle service or order individual cocktails from the bar. Tabu provides guests with an alluring escape from the commotion of the casino and the Strip, but is only steps away from both For more information and reservations call 702-891-7777.

The private, elegant sophistication of Tabu is an excellent way to start the night and one can easily continue the celebration with a short walk to the second floor of the MGM where Studio 54 is located. Read my article on Studio 54 here…
