Celebrate the Holiday Season at Universal Studios Hollywood

Universal Studios and CityWalk are celebrating the holiday season with several treats to put you in a festive spirit.

From now through January 1 they will be having nightly tree lighting ceremonies and special holiday performances. Come see the towering six-story Christmas tree?decorated with an award-winning collection of movie-themed ornaments?and watch it come to life with brilliant lights every night.

Another do-not-miss holiday event is the ?Christmas Spectacular?. A treat for the kid in all of us, enjoy the specially-choreographed dance performances by a cast of animated characters and professional dancers. It plays five times a day so you?re sure not to miss out on the fun.

CityWalk at Universal Studios Hollywood is also getting in the holiday spirit with an array of festive holiday activities, over 30 Christmas trees and showers of snow falling on the popular CityWalk stage.

On weekends from now through December 30, the popular CityWalk stage will be transformed into a venue for live concert performances. Friday nights bring edgy rock ?n? roll bands to play rhythmic versions of popular Christmas classics. Saturday nights, traditional holiday choirs will resonate with melodious carols and Sunday evenings will showcase interesting regional bands performances. From December 26-30, CityWalk will amp up the entertainment with daily concerts performances from popular bands.

And don?t miss the 5th annual Chanukah Festival on December 17. A 15-foot, 1,000-lbs Menorah will light up Universal CityWalk to celebrate the Festival of Lights.

The holiday festivities will culminate in Southern California?s largest New Year?s Eve party. The 2007 countdown begins at 9:00pm December 31 at CityWalk. The free celebration will rock to live bands and DJ performances; it?s a global countdown culminating with blasts of confetti cannons.

Universal Studios is also a great place to do some last-minute shopping. CityWalk’s stores, restaurants will be open on Dec 24 until 8 p.m., allowing late shoppers the opportunity to shop after the malls close! They will also be open on Christmas day.
