Prescription Songs has officially promoted Chris Martignago to Vice President of A&R, solidifying his role as a key creative force behind the independent publisher’s Nashville operations. The announcement marks a significant milestone for Martignago, who has been with the company since 2021 and has played a central role in shaping its genre-spanning roster.
Known for his blend of creative intuition and data-informed instincts, Martignago oversees a growing list of notable talents including Anderson East, Trent Dabbs, JT Daly, Nick Lobel, and Tony Esterly. His work out of the Nashville office continues to expand Prescription Songs’ reach in a city where songwriting culture runs deep.
“Since joining Prescription Songs, Chris has shown exceptional leadership and creative skills,” said Rhea Pasricha, Head of A&R, West Coast. “He has championed and ushered in diverse talent and has helped to shape the future of our roster with his keen ear and passion for artistry. We’re thrilled to see him step into this new role.”
Martignago’s resume spans more than a decade in A&R. He got his start at Atlantic Records in 2012, where he helped launch the A&R Research department, and has since built a track record that includes gold and platinum-certified hits from a wide range of artists—Paramore, Marshmello, Saweetie, A Day to Remember, and Stephen Sanchez among them.
Reflecting on his promotion, Martignago said, “I have learned so much and we’ve made excellent progress here in Nashville during my first four years at the company. I am looking forward to continuing to champion our exceptional creative team and roster with the opportunity of this new role. I am grateful to Rhea for the faith she has in me and my ability to step up to the challenge.”
At Prescription Songs, his current roster reads like a playlist of industry standouts and rising voices: Grammy-nominated names such as Anderson East and Trent Dabbs, as well as Brett Truitt, Josie Dunne, Dominique Sanders, Derik Fein, Heather Russell, and Vancouver Sleep Clinic.
Outside of his executive duties, Martignago is deeply involved in community and mentorship efforts. He volunteers with local schools and arts programs and is the founder of HELL YES!—an online community that supports emerging songwriters through annual songwriting camps and events. Through this platform and initiatives like PLAYBACK (in partnership with PøpSquad’s Wes Davenport), he continues to champion independent creatives and forge meaningful industry connections.
Martignago’s promotion signals a larger strategic move for Prescription Songs, which has been expanding its Nashville footprint. With offices in both Los Angeles and Nashville, the company is behind some of the most recognizable songs of the past two decades. Its roster includes GRAMMY winners and nominees, ASCAP and BMI Songwriter of the Year recipients, and top-charting producers and artists. Last year, Prescription Songs ranked among Billboard’s Top 10 Hot 100 Publishing Corporations.
For a company rooted in creative excellence, elevating Martignago to VP feels like both a natural progression and a promising new chapter.
