As the Television Academy prepares to mark the momentous occasion of the 75th Emmy Awards, viewers can anticipate a night filled with legendary cast reunions, iconic TV settings, and extraordinary musical performances. Hosted by Anthony Anderson, this historic event is set to air on Monday, January 15, from 8:00-11:00 PM EST/5:00-8:00 PM PST on FOX and will be available the next day on Hulu.

During the Emmys Press Preview event, Anderson, along with Executive Producers Jesse Collins, Dionne Harmon, and Jeannae Rouzan-Clay, provided an exclusive glimpse into the unique elements planned for this year’s ceremony. The show promises to feature spectacular cast reunions and tributes to some of the most beloved television series spanning over seven decades.

Among the anticipated highlights are cast reunions and tributes to iconic shows such as The Sopranos, Martin, Cheers, Grey’s Anatomy, Saturday Night Live Weekend Update, All in the Family, Ally McBeal, and I Love Lucy. The celebration will include reproductions of iconic TV settings, bringing nostalgia to fans of these timeless classics.

Musical performances are expected to be a key element of the evening, with Charlie Puth and the husband-and-wife duo The War and Treaty collaborating for a special “In Memoriam” segment. Notably, Travis Barker is set to deliver a showstopping performance alongside Anthony Anderson for the opening act.

In a groundbreaking move, Anthony Anderson revealed a unique strategy to keep the ceremony moving at a brisk pace. Instead of traditional play-off music for long speeches, his mother, Doris Bowman (Mama Doris), will serve as the “enforcer” to ensure a swift telecast, adding a touch of humor to the proceedings.

Adding to the excitement, attendees at the Emmys Press Preview were treated to an immersive experience on a recreation of the infamous candy factory set from I Love Lucy. The real functioning nine-foot-long conveyor belt allowed participants to relive the famous chocolate-stuffing scene between Lucille Ball and Vivian Vance. The surprise performers for this iconic duo on the anniversary telecast will be unveiled during the awards show.

Sampling of libations for the Governors Gala, the official Emmys afterparty, featured contributions from 75th Emmy Awards season partners Franciacorta, Johnny Walker Blended Scotch Whisky, and JUSTIN Vineyards & Winery. Award-winning Pastry Chef Sherry Yard showcased the delectable desserts that will be featured at the Gala, complemented by hydration from FIJI® Water. Drybar® pamper stations were also on hand to add a touch of glamour to the big day.

The list of presenters for special cast reunions is nothing short of star-studded, including names like Lorraine Bracco, Michael Imperioli, Martin Lawrence, Tisha Campbell, Calista Flockhart, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Connie Britton, Ellen Pompeo, and more. Recently confirmed presenters include Christina Applegate, Carol Burnett, Peter Dinklage, Coleman Domingo, Tom Hiddleston, Natasha Lyonne, Ke Huy Quan, and Tracee Ellis Ross.

Attendees at the Emmys Press Preview also got a sneak peek into the official Emmys Giving Suite, located in the J.W. Marriott at L.A. LIVE. The Giving Suite, produced by Backstage Creations, raises funds for the Television Academy Foundation’s education programs. Two of this year’s Emmy Awards trophy presenters, 2023 Foundation Summer Interns Geethika Kataru and Carissa Liu, were in attendance.

The 75th Emmy Awards, executive-produced by Collins, Harmon, and Rouzan-Clay of Jesse Collins Entertainment, will be broadcast live from the Peacock Theater at L.A. LIVE in downtown Los Angeles. Tune in on Monday, January 15, 2024, from 8:00-11:00 PM EST/5:00-8:00 PM PST on FOX, and catch it on Hulu the next day.
