Kori Krill Oil is that supplement you didn’t know you needed so much! When we think of omega 3 oil, we naturally think of fish oil, as a source of omega 3 fatty acids. Lately, krill oil has become very popular. What is so special and unique about Krill Oil? I looked into Kori Krill Oil. Sustainably sourced from the Antarctic, their krill fishery has been recognized globally as an industry leader in sustainability.

First of All, What Is Krill?

Krill are tiny shrimp-like crustaceans that are the largest single species biomass in the southern ocean of Antarctica. You may recall images of whale sharks scooping them up en masse. Near the start of the food chain, krill thrive in deep and clean Antarctic waters where they reproduce rapidly. Krill are powerful natural harvesters of the microalgae they eat, collecting and storing Omega-3s and other nutrients we need.

Krill Oil VS Fish Oil

Omega 3 fatty acids are normally sourced from fish. Krill oil is also a source of Omega 3 fatty acids. The fatty acids in fish oil are in the form of triglycerides. Much of the fatty acids in krill oil are found in the form of phospholipids, which experts discovered that it helps increase their absorption and effectiveness. Phospholipids assist with Omega-3 DHA transfer across the blood brain barrier. Only krill oil is closest to a real fish diet because it contains both phospholipids and triglycerides as found in real fish.

Kori Krill Health Benefits

Kori Krill Oil contains Choline, an essential nutrient that supports brain and nervous system health. Choline is a building block for several essential body functions, from supporting a healthy heart to potentially helping your memory. Choline also provides essential benefits for your liver, brain, muscles, and more.

Kori Krill Oil also contains Astaxanthin which is a naturally-occurring antioxidant (and gives Kori its red color.) Kori doesn’t have to use preservatives like many fish oils because Astaxanthin acts as a natural preservative.

Heart Health

Omega 3’s support normal triglycerides, increase ‘good’ cholesterol (HDL), support normal circulation and heart rhythm, and sustain current normal blood pressure. Omega-3s are a critical part of the membranes surrounding each of your cells. Research has found many benefits of omega-3s relating to heart disease risk factors such as the ability to reduce the fat in blood,  lowering blood pressure and reducing the risk of having an irregular heart rate.

Inflammation

Omega-3 EPA & DHA nutrients in Kori Krill Oil play a very important role to help regulate inflammation in the body, (which is the root cause of many diseases), while  supporting our cellular repair and internal defense systems, and maintaining the normal healthy status quo. Omega-3s in Kori Krill Oil support our joints, supporting joint comfort and flexibility as we age.

Eyes

Omega-3 DHA is found in the highest concentration in the retina, playing an especially important role in keeping our eyes healthy. Many people experience dry eyes as they age. Inadequate production of fatty oils can cause dry eye disease and vision problems. The fat in omega-3s helps lubricate the eye, preventing these common issues.  Kori Krill Oil assists in tear production which is important to eye health.

Sustainably-Sourced Krill Oil

We asked Nancy Chan, the CEO of Epion Brands, an innovative new company focused on improving overall human health, and produces Kori Krill Oil about how their krill oil is processed:

“Kori is made with the most sustainable krill oil – from the only fishery that has received an “A” rating 7 years running from the Sustainable Fisheries Partnership. Only Kori is vertically integrated to have full transparency into the entire manufacturing process from catch of the krill to bottle.”

Harvesting Process

What sets Kori Krill Oil apart is how it is harvested and produced in the most sustainable way possible. Their state-of-the-art krill harvesting vessels have sophisticated GPS systems onboard. Therefore, every bottle of Kori Krill Oil is fully traceable back to the exact spot in Antarctica where it was harvested.

Then, the krill used in Kori Krill Oil travel from Antarctica to a state-of-the-art facility in the USA where processing is completed. The facility has passed rigorous audits for process control, adherence to standard operating procedures and good manufacturing practices set by the FDA and third-party certifying bodies like NSF International. It also has a closed production process that significantly minimizes the possibility of any contaminants being introduced into Kori Krill Oil.

Kori Krill Oil is made in the USA with wild-caught Antarctic non-GMO krill that is processed immediately on boats to preserve freshness.1

Eco-harvesting technology includes a continuously submerged mid-water vacuum that is guarded by a fine mesh net that prevents anything larger than krill from entering. As a result of this process, developed through years of research and investment, by-catch is negligible as there is minimal interaction with species other than krill.

Kori Krill  Oil comes in Soft Gels, Kori Mind and Body Omega-3, and Multi Benefit Omega 3 Gummies. Kori Krill Oil has no no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives, and comes in soft gels of 400MG, 600MG  and 1200MG.
