When you are trying to bring yourself to begin a new exercising program, or just bringing yourself to exercise at all, it can be a difficult task. You not only need the motivation, but you need the energy, the time, and the tools to help you get the goal body that you are looking for. However, today could be the day that you say goodbye to all of the excuses you have been using to avoid exercise.

Some people want to exercise for their mental health and to just be a bit more physically healthy. Whether or not you actually want to lose weight, you are going to find out the best ways to avoid the excuses and get on the right track to begin this exercising journey. Figure Out Your Schedule

The first thing that you need to do when trying to jump into an exercise routine or exercise program, is figuring out what amount of time you are working with. You don’t want to dedicate yourself to something if you don’t have the time for it. You are allowed to have personal time, but you shouldn’t deny a program or a routine specifically because you only have time for it on your days off. It is actually a very good idea to keep yourself moving on the days when you are not working so that you never get lazy.

The best way to go about a new workout routine or program is by preparing your body with short walks. If you have a safe space around your home, try to walk at least a mile a day. This will give your body a steady pace to start at, while not pushing you too far. Even if you can’t go on a walk, you can go to the gym and walk on the treadmill for a mile and it will still count towards that muscle-building goal.

Find Alternatives to Walks

If you don’t want to make a trip to the gym every day, and you don’t live in an area where a quick mile walk is easy to do, you can choose an alternative option like:

  • Jog in place for about 10 minutes
  • Jumping jacks for about 5 minutes
  • Doing about 15 burpees

While these are not directly equivalent to doing a mile walk, they will still help keep your body active. Once those things become very easy, you can up your time to continue building muscle.

Find a Group of People With the Same Goal

When motivation and confidence are a struggle for you while on this new journey, you can go online and find people or groups who are looking for friends to work out with. You can share your diets, your workout schedules, and what you hope to accomplish at the end of all of this. This helps keep people motivated and a lot of groups are open to meeting in person to make sure everyone is getting to the goals that they have.

Join an Exercise Program That Won’t Give You Doubts

Finally, make sure that when you are ready for the exercise program, it doesn’t create many doubts. The environment should be nice and healthy. And you should never feel like if you don’t make it to a single meeting, you are going to lose every bit of progress you have made. That isn’t what these groups are about. They are about helping people. If you aren’t being helped, then find another group.
