Gastro mechanics hit center stage as Gastro Garage returns to Hollywood with TORCHED, an interactive pop-up culinary experience featuring blowtorches and molecular gastronomy on the rooftop of the W Hollywood. The W Hollywood special 25% room rate for those who purchase tickets to the experience. Click HERE to receive the discount.
The pop-up, which kicks off Friday, Oct. 16, includes an eight-course “Mechanics Menu” starring their signature “Gastro Tanks” and “Drill Bits”. This blowtorch-powered dinner series will deconstruct classic dishes and reimagine them as “tanks” made from savory brioche donuts that are filled with a variety of nitrous foams to choose from and then torched with gourmet ingredients.
“We are excited to bring some culinary fun back to the community after months of eating in and have created a menu for the W Hollywood that no one has experienced or tasted before,” said Adam Manacker, co-founder of Gastro Garage.
“It’s all about an immersive experience and experimentation with different flavors, toppings, and oils to create the perfect tank and unique night out under the stars.”
Riffing on a drive-thru auto service bay theme, the whimsical design of the rooftop space is filled with oil drums, hubcaps, vintage motorcycles, and rock n’ roll music and videos playing in the background.
Upon admission, guests will be greeted by “Gastro Mechanics” dressed in welding masks as they guide them through the multi-sensory experience. Guests can enjoy sweeping views of the W rooftop in between fire-seared bites within the playful atmosphere.
The eight-course menu includes:
- Buffalo Blue Chips (Kettle Chips with Blu foam and Gastro Buffalo Sauce)
- Cubano Gastro Tank (gruyere foam, torched 12-hour slow-roasted pork, Applewood smoked ham, mustard caviar, dill plank)
- Piston Pizza Gastro Tank (mozzarella foam, torched shredded mozzarella, tomato basil puree, fresh basil)
