Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin, co-founder and CEO of Solomuse, hosted the event in an immaculately detailed design studio filled with creatives dancing to Marcus Molinari, designer, actor, and nightlife entrepreneur, serving as DJ. Sohomuse is a one-of-a-kind vertical social network that will bring creatives together in ways other social media platforms cannot. What is Sohomuse? Sohomuse is an invitation-only platform that “enables creative professionals to promote their talents and projects, network, and collaborate with other creatives and source talent across the globe – all within a secure and trusted ecosystem.” Writers can interact with directors, directors with cinematographers, designers with models, stylists with makeup artists all with a similar purpose of collaboration and mutual advancement.

The site makes everyone’s art better. Since its launch in November, 2017 the site has attracted thousands to join the multi-tiered membership platform. Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin says “Members can showcase themselves, take advantage of our customized concierge referral service, and access our distribution network, to bring their content and their work to life. The overwhelming response we have received just since our launch reinforces our belief that SohoMuse is the exact type of social community creatives have been searching for. With our official L.A. launch, we are expecting our profile to continue its rapid growth and expansion.”

The gallery opened with Montgomery Frazier appointed models showcasing the stylish furnishings of Christopher Guy, renowned British luxury furniture designer, and gowns by celebrity fashion designer CD Greene. Throughout the studio attendees interacted, danced, and began budding partnerships to be furthered through the Sohomuse social media platform.

Host Consuelo Vanderbilt Costin next addressed the crowd and showcased the 3D Virtual Screening room integral to Sohomuse. The 3D screening room, created by Sohomuse partner Zreality, consists of a virtual theater where users can scan and look around as if in a traditional theater. On the virtual screen, the work of creatives on the Sohomuse platform can showcase their work, promote their brand, and invite collaboration. The virtual screening room is customizable and can live stream the creative work of the artists creating a specific branded environment.

Gigi Gorgeous joined Consuelo to introduce one of first movies to be screened, Craig Singer and Sylvia Caminer’s  “2 B Me”, a documentary “focusing on the journeys of transgender children and their families, as well as individuals on the Intersex spectrum.” Gigi spoke about not having resources like this growing up and the importance of such a film for transyouth. The poignant trailer follows four transyouth conveying specific challenges as they interact with parents and peers. The film highlights current cultural issues such as bathroom designation and the gender identity of those under 18. The timely films is of great significance not only for transyouth, but also for families and friends struggling with the concept of gender expression in childhood.

Following the presentation, the dancing commenced as Marcus Molinari resumed his role as DJ. The celebratory mood was enhanced with the knowledge that everyone in attendance was there to support an inventive social media platform that could showcase important work such as “2 B Me’. Sohomuse is an emerging social media platform that will bring creatives together to sponsor films like “2 B Me” and foster collaboration between artists and developing a powerful creative community.
