The dining scene in downtown LA keeps getting hotter, and the latest go-to spot is Eve American Bistro, headed by Executive Chef Scott Commings (Season 12 winner of “Hell’s Kitchen”) and Executive Chef Karo Patpatyan, who graduated from Le Cordon Bleu Collage of Culinary Arts-Pasadena, and spent more than a decade with the famed Wolfgang Puck’s Spago.

This chic destination is housed in the redesigned and historic Mayfair Hotel, located in the Westlake neighborhood in downtown Los Angeles. Named after a character in a Raymond Chandler story, Eve American Bistro offers a feminine interpretation of the old-school European-style bistro applied to modern American classics.

Discerning diners can enjoy acclaimed brunch, lunch, or dinner service at Eve American Bistro before or after an outing to Staples Center, the Grammy Museum, the Broad, or any of the trendy destinations nearby.

Chef Scott Commings seeks out seasonal, organic ingredients to fulfill his culinary vision. Seasonal specialties will pop up on Eve’s menu, but you can look forward to such perennial favorites as duck confit, braised octopus carpaccio, and lobster truffle mac and cheese, or you can opt for a raw bar serving oysters, crab, clams, shrimp, and lobster.

At lunch, guests can expect a rotisserie selection of duck, lamb, chicken, and pork belly to adorn their deconstructed sandwiches, while brunch includes such selections as red velvet pancakes, build-your-own Eggs Benedict, and prime rib hash.

Eve American Bistro ups your dining experience with exquisite details, such as a wide range of steak knives, a lofty Japanese-crafted liquor infuser anchoring the bar, and individual tableside spirit infusers for guests who choose to imbibe. Guests can also enjoy a muddle bar, where they can create their own cocktails. Eve’s bar serves creative cocktails and craft beers, along with a selection of fine wines. To further sweeten the deal, guests can also partake of 2-ounce wine pours, thus creating their own flights. Alternately, they can opt for 6-ounce by-the-glass pours or bottomless glass options.

Eve American Bistro marks the debut of Executive Chef Scott Commings following his victory on season 12 of Fox’s “Hell’s Kitchen.” He says, “The culinary makeup of Los Angeles—cross-cultural, ingredient-diverse, creative and communal—is incredible, and a place I am privileged to now join through Eve at The Mayfair. This restaurant is special and the multisensory experience it will deliver to guests, from the design to our amazing menu, will be highly memorable.”

Kelley Jones, President and COO of Hospitality Alliance, a bicoastal management, development and consulting company made up of award-winning experts in different areas of the hotel and food and beverage industries, states: “When we teamed with The Mayfair, we were guided by the hotel’s distinct 1920s personality to create food and beverage experiences whereby each dining concept could hold its own as a stand-alone,” said  “This has allowed for different arrival experiences in each of our spaces in the hotel – special touch-points have been created in each outlet that offer guests and locals different narratives every time they visit, and foster a relationship with the hotel and the great community that we have joined.”

The Mayfair Hotel emerges after a top-to-bottom renovation to take its place among LA hotspots, combining vintage character and contemporary glamour. The works of the Mayfair Hotel’s Artist-in-Resident Kelly “RISK” Graval grace the walls of the Eve, along with unique pieces by artists Alex Kizu (also known as Defer) and Cryptik.

The Mayfair Hotel General Manager Peter Kolla adds: “With an unparalleled dedication to unique art and culture programming including amenities such as a custom-built podcast studio and a thoughtfully curated art gallery as well as the debut of Eve American Bistro, The Mayfair Hotel is expertly poised to serve as the city’s newest social hub.”

Expected to open later in 2018, the pool deck will feature cabanas, chaise lounges and a dining area to enjoy tableside Mojitos, an extensive Caribbean-inspired cocktail program, as well as roaming sushi and dim sum carts.
