The Beverly Center’s tradition brings fans together to celebrate traditional hip-hop, an artistic way to lyrically express one’s thoughts involving rhythm and movement.

Two of hip-hops liveliest, Hookdiggy and Pain Phree present new and exciting material, live at the over-21 event, on February 7, 2013.  Fans can look forward to experiencing new work including Pain Phree’s single “Regarding Me” and Hookdiggy’s newly released “Wind Out”.

Some may wonder who Hookdiggy really is.  Lets just say if Stefan Urquelle became a hip-hop artist rather than pursing Laura Winslow, he would most likely sound like Hookdiggy.

hookdiggyHookdiggy’s strive for success ultimately made all his hard work worthwhile.  Although unsure of the influence from a school nickname “Lyrical Nerd Boy,” The Dayton Family, Little Brother, or his innate love of hip hop, Hookdiggy always strives for perfection.

Positive inspiring imagery and cleverly intellectual hip-hop is his specialty.  Music is in his blood, and so is his repetitive nature to be the best he could possibly be.

Hookdiggy has a wide-ranging past in recording commercial material, from small town Flint, Michigan to big city Atlanta, Georgia. Under the nickname Hookdiginious, 2003 was the year “Octopia” was released and the spread of his music began.  In 2007 local North Carolina producer, Truescribe, produced the single “Give It Ya Best”.

2009 brought some big changes, including the establishment of his own label, Second Half Entertainment, and the name change from Hookdiginious to Hookdiggy.  The year also brought, From the Method Man and Redman Blackout 2 album, a collaboration with Melanie Rutherford and Method Man on the single “A Lil’ Bit”.  Working with other artist, and writing new material daily allowed for him to express his true passion for music.

“Good Music” a mix by Grammy Nominated Mike Wilson, from the Patchwerk Studios of Atlanta, was released in 2011.  The single was a hit showcased by various award nominations and rave reviews.   Glenn Schick, master musical engineer, mastered the newly-evolved single “Wind Out”.
