Indulge your taste buds with the newly redesigned and reopened Naya Sunset and Naya Lounge in Silver Lake, a side-by-side restaurant concept offering a delectable and unique twist on Indian food. Naya, which means “new” in Hindi, will be sure to take your taste buds and senses through an unforgettable journey of romantic architecture and delectable California-influenced, Indian-inspired cuisine by Chef Imram Ali Mookhi.

Nestled in the Silver Lake strip, the restaurant features two contradicting spaces, which is done to purposely reflect the perceived duality of life, the dark and the light. The Naya Lounge features a dark, gothic scene with detailed architectural features and a Moroccan-inspired flare. The room features a marble, circular bar at the far end and comfortable seating perfect for drinks and casual dining.

Naya Lounge is open daily from 4pm to 2am and features signature cocktails such as Spa in Goa (a must have), a mix of Don Julio Blanco, lime juice, nectar, jalapeno and cucumber; Buddha’s Bea, a mix of Stoli Vanil, Liquor 43 and pineapple juice; and The Dancing Lotus, with Belvedere, Cointreau, lychee juice and pomegranate juice. Cocktails begin at $12.

Also available in the Naya Lounge are the Bar Bites, which include Spiced Peanuts, Tempura and Garbanzo Battered Onion Rings with Spiced Ketchup, Assorted Samosas (highly recommended and feature spinach and tofu, kidney beans and cheese, potato and peas, feta cheese and arugula and walnut), Naya Burger Sliders and the house special, Naan Pizzas. These bar bites range from $5-7.

After enjoying a couple signature cocktails and appetizers, make your way into the heavenly, all-white and super chic Naya Sunset dining room for dinner. You will literally feel like you just stepped onto a cloud. The entire room is draped in white lace curtains, which help separate each booth to ensure a more cozy and private setting. Naya Sunset serves dinner from 6pm to midnight each day.

Naya Sunset entrees feature Butter Chicken Masala, made with marinated chicken, buttery tomato sauce and Naya rice; Everest Lamb, made with rich onion-tomato demi-glaze and Naya rice; Lemon Chili Scallops, with chili-lemongrass coconut milk, pomegranate chutney and black rice; and the Filet Mignon Breakfast Curry, with wheat flour curry and paired with garlic mashed potatoes. Entrees range from $15-26.

For those of you who enjoy a vegetarian lifestyle, Naya Sunset has you covered with a plethora of vegetable side dishes such as Fenugreek and Green Pea Curry, Sesame Stir Fried Cauliflower, Yellow Lentil Stew, Garbanzo Bean Stew, Black Rice and more. Vegetable side dishes are $10 and house special breads are $3-5.

And of course don’t forget to save room for dessert, which includes Cardomom-Infused Rice Pudding with Ice Cream and Rose Donut with Chilled Pineapple and Chocomosa. Deserts range from $5-7.
