The Churchill Gastropub – New Culinary Gem in the Heart of West Third St.

Cash for your car

In LA, you know you’re in-the-know when you’re privvy to those hidden gems off the beaten path. But there’s no keeping this potential best-kept secret a secret when The Churchill has so much to offer. Restaurateurs Beau Laughlin and Brett Cranston, who opened The Hudson in 2009, bring LA’s newest, coolest gastropub to the neighborhood, right in the heart of L.A.’s  West Third Street shopping and dining district, adjacent to The Orlando Hotel. A resident of the West 3rd St. neighborhood for 7 years, owner/creator Brett Cranston wanted to create a space that had it all. He accomplished that quite well – The Churchill offers everything you’d want in a neighbor restaurant and bar, and more.

The Ambiance

Named after Sir Winston, and inspired by European hospitality, this vibrant multi-level, indoor/outdoor space features a turn-of-the-century rustic industrial aesthetic. The authentic decor, ranging from the reclaimed wood communal tables, iron table tops with retro crank bases, polished concrete floors, and delightful antique, delights and eyes and the senses.

From antiqued mirrors, incandescent Edison lights bulbs, vintage records, books and other curios like old boxing gloves, vintage records, books, black-and-white sports photographs and an antique silver cash register, give you the feeling like you are being taken back in time. Even the menus look like pages from an Almanac.

On the street level you’ll find a dining area with seated tables, bar, and an outdoor sidewalk patio, encompassed by plexiglass walls and includes a fireplace and seating with black tufted (boat) leather (which protects the seating from the elements) and lots of foliage.

Upstairs is a large seated dining area and bar, where a roster of weekly DJs spin after-hours, with the added fun of a vintage photo booth. DJ’s spin Thursday through Sunday nights. The large private dining/party room is ideal for entertaining and private events.

Oh, But the Food!
