Wendy’s Berry Almond Chicken Salad Packs Flavor and Nutrients

Cash for your car

Worldwide fast food chain Wendy’s is introducing its latest option in the salad category with the Berry Almond Chicken Salad. Highlighting the culinary movement of farm-to-table with ingredients straight from the farm, Wendy’s is the only national fast food chain to serve a salad with fresh berries during this season. The restaurant touts more than 6,500 locations worldwide.

Over the last year, Wendy’s salad sales have grown about 60 percent due to the many options available, including the Apple Pecan Chicken Salad, Baja Salad, Spicy Chicken Ceasar Salad and BLT Cobb Salad, all a part of the Garden Sensations line.

The newest salad consists of California strawberries, blueberries, romaine and iceberg lettuce, tossed with a spring mix made up of Lolla Rossa and Tango. California almonds roasted in sea salt complement the sweet of the berries, and rounding out the ingredients are pieces of Asiago cheese and grilled chicken breast. The salad is then topped with a fat-free raspberry vinaigrette made of acai berry juice.

Wendy's new Berry Almond Chicken Salad

Wendy’s Berry Almond Salad will be featured on menus through the summer—the perfect season for the strawberries and blueberries that brightly color the dish.

When Wendy’s began adding salads to its menu, it did extensive research that started on the streets of New York City and continued to the labs where flavor profiles and ingredients were tested for consumers to try and discuss. This new salad is not only packed with flavor but also includes needed nutrients like Vitamin C, Vitamin E and calcium.

A full-size Berry Almond Salad gives its eaters a full cup of fruit and antioxidants, such as anthocyanins. To continue wowing its guests, Wendy’s lettuce remains crisp and fresh with the chain’s “three-day field to fork” mentality, always having lettuce from where its grown to the consumer in three days or less.

Available at participating locations, Wendy’s Berry Almond Salad with chicken has an average retail price of $6.49 (full size) or $4.49 (half size). Without chicken the salad is $5.29 (full size) or $3.89 (half size).
