The Organic Pharmacy’s Award Winning Rose Crystal Lymphatic Facial

Farmer’s Market Delights

The small store on Beverly Boulevard is austere and clinical with its shelves of tinctures and herbs contrasting against the clean white and blue accents. Stephanie, my athletic-looking facialist, greets me warmly and I am ushered into the treatment room for my ‘farmer’s market’ facial. (With all the aromas and natural ingredients used in the elaborate 8 step facial, olifactorily speaking, it was like strolling among the local farmer’s market.)

Aromatherapy Treatment

It began with an aromatherapy treatment with Neroni oil (orange blossoms) where I am instructed to inhale deeply three times as Stephanie’s hands do an elegant tribal dance above my face. She explains that it’s a way to introduce her hands to me as they will be in constant contact with my body for the next 90 minutes.

Carrots and Clay

Next comes their Beauty Insiders’ Choice 2008 winner, Carrot Butter Cleanser, infused with rosemary to remove make-up and dirt effortlessly followed by the Flower Petal Deep cleanser and exfoliator of oats, clay and milk. Stephanie skillfully swaddles warm cloths made of 100% organic muslin over my face like a Kabuki artist in between each mask.

Rose Hip Me

A face massage follows with another of their signature products, the Rose Hip Seed Serum, which promotes scar repair and wrinkle reduction. My skin is definitely saying, “Oh yes, please” to both of these attributes. To calm the skin after extractions, a Seaweed Clay mask is gently applied with hardly time to set as Stephanie began to apply another treatment.

Organic Effectiveness

I asked, trying not to scowl and increase the furrowed lines between my brow, “Why don’t you leave my masks on to sit for awhile like other facialists do?”  Without hesitation, Stephanie simply replied, “Our products are made with such pure ingredients that it doesn’t take long for the skin to reap the benefits unlike other organic products that may only contain 10% of truly organic ingredients.”

Jasmine’s Moon Bloom

By now, I am beginning to buy this theory as my pores feel alive again as if awakening from hibernation. Scents of honey and jasmine waft through the air as the Honey & Jasmine hydration mask is next. The jasmine is picked at its most fragrant climax – at night when the moon is full.

Crystal Cleansing

Somewhere between the Collagen Boost mask and the Antioxidant face serum, the signature Rose Crystal lymphatic massage takes place. It’s an interesting ritual of stroking the skin with two small stones to promote energy and cleansing.  After a feet, neck and shoulder massage, I am positive of its glowing affects. Stephanie insists I look in the mirror and now I know why women of the UK have been singing its praises. I am radiating organic health!
