Former co-founder and co-owner of hot brand True Religion Brand Jeans, Kym Gold-Lubell, has launched a new women’s line, called Babakul. The French word for “hippie”, the Babakul spring/summer 2009 collection consists of trousers, lightweight denim and vests.
Gold-Lubell recently threw an event launching Babakul at her Malibu estate, which drew many famous faces including Holly Robinson-Peete, Golden Brooks, couture designer du jour Randolph Duke, business partner/Babakul Vice President Giannci Genau and fiancé Victor Newman of Win Win Global. Kym’s long time friend and musician Eric Benet and his daughter India provided the musical entertainment, while her guests enjoyed ‘babakul-tinis” provided by EFFEN Vodka and Rose’s Pear Martini Infusion.
