The Simpsons ride at Universal Studios HollywoodOne of the most anticipated attraction launches in history: “The Simpson’s Ride” at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Creator Matt Groening and Executive Producers James L. Brooks, in association with 20th Century Fox Television and the creative teams of Gracie Films and Universal Theme Parks have launched a ride so big, so thrilling that it places guests right smack in the middle of a new Simpsons adventure, while showcasing all the things that audiences grew to love about “The Simpons.”

“For twenty years I’ve been dreaming about this, and here it is – a wild, thrilling Simpons ride put together by a huge number of talented artists and amusement-park maniacs,” admits Groening.

As a larger than life attraction, guests are swept into a theme park (Krustyland) by way of Krusty’s mouth. It is there that guests are thrust into all the chaos that began when Sideshow Bob had escaped from prison and decided to get his revenge on the Simpson family and on the park’s creator, Krusty.

Guests are sure to enjoy a ride through Krustyland and Springfield that features the first ever animated cork screw.

James L. Brooks jokes: “I take with all due sense of mission and humility the opportunity to spray water and spritz baby powder at Universal patrons.”

“The Simpsons” – which happens to be the longest running animated series and the longest running primetime comedy series ever – is known for taking a traditional family life and turning it upside down. Kelsey Grammar, Elizabeth Taylor, Simon Cowell, Natalie Portman, Keifer Sutherland, Paul Newman, Mick Jagger, U2 and Aerosmith are among the celebrities who have lent their voices to the popular series, which has received 23 Emmy Awards and received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2000.

“The Simpons Movie,” which was released last summer and is now on DVD, has earned more than 500 million dollars.

President of Universal Creative, Mark Woodbury, says of the ride: “We have created the ultimate Simpsons experience. It’s a wild ride through the world of “The Simpsons” – up close and with the whole family, Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie – like you’ve never seen her before.”
