Lash Fary Is The Gifting God To The Stars

Lash Fary is the guru of gifts.  From birthdays to weddings to award shows, if the perfect gift is needed, then Lash is the person to consult.  Having overseen the official gifting suites for most major award shows over the last eight years, Fary knows a thing or two about what’s hot.

Founding Distinctive Assets in 1999, Fary’s company started out as a fashion resource to costume designers on most major television programs.  Having made a splash with the stars using their eye for spectacular products, Distinctive Assets began bringing gift ideas on set for the actors’ shopping convenience.  This in turn led to an introduction to the big wigs at the Grammy’s, where the company took on their first assignment of assembling gift bags for the presenters and performers.  After receiving an overwhelming response to their collection of goods for the music elite, Distinctive Assets has been chosen to put together gift bags for almost every major award show since. 

Nowadays the thought of gift bags seems pretty standard, but it was Distinctive Assets who originated the idea of the Gift Lounge eight years ago.  Even though other companies have taken on the concept for themselves, Lash Fary is consistently the one chosen to put together The Official Gift Lounge at the Tony Awards, People’s Choice Awards, MTV Awards and others, for the high bar they’ve set for seeking out the most interesting products on the marketplace.  Fary further attributes his company’s success to "The quality of what we do, the respect we offer talent and the seamlessness with which we work with the production company."

Even though his company may not put on a Gift Lounge for the ultimate award shows, the Oscars and the Emmys, due to rigid press restrictions, it doesn’t mean he doesn’t have a hand in outfitting those honored by the Academy with the latest "must have" brands.  For both events, Distinctive Assets present gifts to the losing nominees in the major award categories.  As Fary states, it’s a "unique and interesting way for us to be part of these events.  It’s a nice way for us to diversify our portfolio of services and offer events with slightly smaller quantity requirements in terms of the number of celebrities gifted." 

As the originator of the concept, Distinctive Assets stands out from the others by ensuring their gift bags and suites focus on quality and diversification of products from year to year.  Using merchandise from companies such as Avon, Logitech, Caesars Palace, iHome and Escada, Distinctive Assets sets out to keep their choices fresh and on the cutting edge. According to Fary,  "I notice that quite a few of the off-site gifting suites use products that we introduced at our events three or four years ago. You’re only as good as you’re last gift bag in this town, so we don’t simply rely on the same companies year after year and show after show."

With his flair for sensing current trends and pleasing celebrities, Fary is often seen on television as an expert guest.  As no one can be harder to accommodate than pampered celebrities, Fary has appeared on shows such as Extra, E! and VH1, where he has shared his successful approach to gifting, ensuring viewers "wow" their friends and family with the very next gift.  Aside from the television appearances he has made, Fary’s tips have also been quoted in Entertainment Weekly, USA Today, Variety and the Los Angeles Times. 

Having conquered award shows, talk shows and print media, Lash Fary has added another venture to his impressive resume.  Taking his insight, experience and eye for the next big thing to the masses, Fary has published Fabulous Gifts, which is a guide to "assessing the personality of the [gift] recipient and then swiftly implementing Lash’s personal gift-giving techniques."

In addition to the incredibly full plate Fary already has, Distinctive Assets has acquired an event production company called J. Gatsby Events.  Based in Las Vegas, J. Gatsby produces events for the Hard Rock Hotel, the Foundation Room, celebrity weddings, birthdays and many other exciting galas.

Award shows, corporate gifting, guest appearances, publishing, event production companies and even a gift store later this year in Hollywood, it would appear there’s no end in sight to the fabulous taste, talent and drive of Distinctive Assets and Lash Fary.
