High-profile, well-dressed guests filed past framed photos of classic Hollywood heavyweights into the private, members-only Friars Club in Beverly Hills for the Zedcards.com launch party on Friday, November 10.

The event had a dual purpose: launch Zedcards.com, the actor/model/photographer-focused social networking website that?s the brainchild of Friar?s Club owner Darren Schaeffer; and support Invisible Children Charity, a grassroots movement to save the lives of children caught in the civil war in Uganda.

And it did both in style. The crowd sipped on cocktails from the full bar or from private bottles at their tables, and noshed on hors d?ouevres that were gourmet takes on classic snacks (think pigs in a blanket made with flaky philo dough, or nachos made with rice crackers and sushi topping). All the while, the DJ spun timeless hits, from Fergie?s London Bridge to Prince?s Kiss.

Next, the event?s host introduced Bobby Bailey, one of the three filmmakers behind the Invisible Children phenomenon. He showed a video outlining how far and wide the movement to save Ugandan children has gone and encouraged guests to purchase the original documentary and make donations to the charity.

Following this small presentation was the official unveiling of Zedcards.com, complete with a slideshow presentation featuring the site?s full-service capabilities for actors, models, agents, photographers and other industry professionals.

The pinnacle of the night, though, was the fashion show, featuring twenty-five models strutting down the catwalk to the DJ?s beats. Models wore denim jumpsuits, feminine blouses, leggings and other fashions of the moment from top lines Marissa K, Frankie B?s ?B United,? and Justin Timberlake?s William Rast line.

The fashion show was coordinated by Snob Boutique, a new store out of San Clemente, with stylists Yvonne and Atouzo ? known most recently for their work with Mercedes Benz Fashion Week and Louis Verdad ? working sci-fi-meets-glamour magic on the models.

All in all, the party well represented the site it was launching: beautiful, trendy, fun and oh-so-L.A.
