Westside_Bosy_and_Girls_clu.jpgSanta Barbara, Los Angeles?s seaside sister, is known for its missions, prestigious university and wineries. But on Friday October 6th, Santa Barbara took a step into the charity spotlight, raising money for the Westside Boys and Girls Club with a spectacular Masquerade ball arranged by PR newcomers, N2 Lunar Entertainment.

In an age where the ?latch key kid? is so common, the Westside Boys and Girls Club offers a safe environment for children to learn and grow after school with adult supervision. The organization, which is celebrating its Centennial Anniversary this year, has a mission dedicated to promoting and enhancing child development. Through participation in their programs and use of their services, their goal is to instill in every boy and girl a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence. The night?s proceeds went towards purchasing equipment, expanding programs and updating the facilities of the local Westside Boys and Girls Club.

Westside_boys_and_girls_clu.jpgThe night?s festivities took place under the full harvest moon and atop the roof of the sparkling new Hotel Andalucia, located in downtown Santa Barbara. Over two hundred masked guests basked in golden moonlight and swayed to live music from Duende, a five-piece guitar and string ensemble. The champagne flowed like water as guests and local socialites alike mingled for a good cause.

Arron Yohe-Mellor, a successful film and television editor, was not only an attendee for the evening, but also living proof that the program has positive influences on its participants. ?It?s so great to see the community come out to support this local charity. I grew up playing basketball at the Boys and Girls Club and its feels really good to come out tonight and give back to the organization that helped me become who I am today.?

Westside.jpgJustin Michael, a musician and the Director of N2 Lunar Entertainment, plans to dedicate a full-mooned Friday each month to fundraising for a different cause. ?I’ve definitely inspired friends, relatives, fans and the community but I’ve never really taken a big bite until now. Life is too short to put off helping people if that’s what you’re all about.?
