The hottest and fastest party in LA this week was held at the Avalon Hollywood for the Need for Speed Hot Pursuit (NFSHP) launch party on November 16th. The line was out the door to get into the party for EA and Criterion Games’ highest rated Need for Speed game ever. Expensive sports cars lined the streets as models dressed up as racers and police officers showed off the one of a kind Lamborghini cop car sitting outside the front door. While the celebration started on the street, the real party waited inside as celebrities and gamers alike came together to play what is a shoe-in for game of the year.

The historic Avalon Hollywood, which spans six decades as the musical playground of Hollywood greats such as Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Tina Turner, Nirvana, The Beastie Boys and Prince was now open for a festival of music, videos and gaming unlike any other. The music was blasting as people took to the dance floor, which was lined with full versions of the game to play.  Fans took pictures in the mug shot style photo booth and played as both racers and cops in different modes of the game while waiting for up and coming Hip Hop Duo Chiddy Bang to perform.

Many celebrities came out to show their love for the racing franchise. Commercial and viral success stories Isaiah Mastafa of the widely popular Old Spice commercials and the Dos Equis “Most Interesting Man in the World” Jonathan Goldsmith both took to the red carpet of the event. Bob Guiney of The Bachelorette and The Bachelor joined Heroes star and Band from TV band mate Greg Grunberg outside the party. Rob Kardashian of Keeping Up with the Kardashians fame, posed with the NFSHP models and the Lamborghini cop car. Inside, Hip Hop star Chris Brown enjoyed playing the game from the VIP section. But it was Kevin Dillon and Jerry Ferrara of the show Entourage who were the talk of the night. The hilarious trailers they shot for the game were shown on the big screens over looking the entire event.

The biggest star of the night was the game itself, and for good reason: no one could keep their hands off it! Praised for its breathtaking visuals, addicting and varied game play and a near perfect racing experience, Need for Speed Hot Pursuit stands to be the best racer not only for this holiday season, but of the year. Adding to the fun of racing and taking down your friends is the new Autolog feature, which takes the social gaming experience to the next level by tracking your performance, comparing it with your friends and creating new and unique challenges seamlessly. Autolog is the biggest innovation for the Need for Speed franchise and is poised to be the future of online gaming.
