Rocket Dog (www.rocketdog.com) presented Melanie Segal’s Teen Choice Awards Lounge on Thursday and Friday, helping to raise awareness for the escalating crisis faced by animal shelters. Growing Concern
The rise in foreclosures has pushed many families out of pet friendly homes, forcing more pets into animal shelters throughout California. Now, a state mandate requiring animal shelters to hold pets for 6 days has been rescinded in a response to California’s budget crisis, meaning some animals are being euthanized in as little as three days from their arrival to a shelter.
“Often, in times of crises, pets become the forgotten victims,” says Melanie Segal, owner of Platinum Publicity, a full service PR company specializing in celebrity events and gifting.
