You may recognize her as one of the sexy members of the girl group The Pussycat Dolls, but Carmit Bachar is stepping out on her own, having been named by FHM as one of the 100 Sexiest Women in the World of 2008. The title isn’t exactly a new thing for Bachar, who has previously been included on the Top 100 Lists for Maxim and Stuff with The Pussycat Dolls, whose members include Nicole Scherzinger and Melody Thornton.

Perhaps the news is coming at a good time, as Bachar recently announced her work on a new solo music album, as well as a live show/music-based project for T.V called “The Zodiac Show.”

Started as an underground live performance event, the television project soon became creative outlet for both established and new singers, dancers, poets, aerialists and rappers. As a performer and co-producer, Bachar was proud to be involved with an event that had gained the respect of many celebrities and had been produced in some of Hollywood’s biggest venues.

Speaking to In Touch Weekly, she described “The Zodiac Show” as “an edgy, rock n’ roll versiou of Cirque du Soleil.”

Though born and raised in Los Angeles, Bachar, who comes from a family of entertainers, is of Israeli, Dutch, Indonesian and Chinese descent. Starting as a rhythmic gymnast for 10 years, Bachar saw success early on, placing 5th in the Olympic trials in 1992.

Before joining the Pussycat Dolls, she perfected her craft at Hamilton Academy of Music, a performing arts high school that gave her the opportunity to train in dance, music and piano.

Bachar, along with The Pussycat Dolls, originally rose to achieved international fame seemingly overnight with hit singles “Don’t Cha,” “StickWitU,” and “Buttons” and their 2005 debut album, which sold almost seven million copies. The girl group began as a cabaret show in famed clubs such as The Viper Room and The Roxy before becoming a worldwide sensation. As a founding member, Bachar had the opportunity to perform alongside celebrity guest stars including Paris Hilton, Carmen Electra, Christina Aguilera, Charlize Theron, Pamela Anderson, Nikka Costa, and Gwen Stefani.

In addition, Bachar and the other girls were also featured in Cingular Wireless campaigns, the 2007 NBA season, “Charlie’s Angles: Full Throttle,” “Las Vegas” on NBC, as well as  several episodes of the hit reality show “The Pussycat Dolls Present: The Search for the Next Doll” on the CW network.

Bachar has also recently been named as a Smile Ambassador for Operation Smile, a worldwide philanthropic organization. She has also teamed up with Operation Smile to help with her own charity, “Project Smile With Me,” which will help children who have been born with a cleft flip/cleft palate the way she was. She hopes to offer inspiration to these kids, as well as an arts education.

With her work for Operation Smile, Bachar has already taken part in a mission trip to Bolivia and is planning a trip to Peru in the Summer of 2008.
