The Simple Life for Skin, via Extra Virgin Body Products
By Jill Blackford
Beauty, Purity and Simplicity.
If only our lives could be filled primarily with these three little gems. Extra Virgin Body Products may help on that front, at least for thirsty skin. The mission of the new L.A.-based company is to offer skin remedies designed with these happy, calming concepts in mind.
Behind the Name
Products labeled Vita-Pure Cleansing Milk and Night Oxygen Emulsion imply scientific and sexy. They are. Drawing from founder Kelly Andrea Rubin’s nearly 25 years of experience in the personal care industry (she’s a makeup artist and licensed cosmetologist), this cheekily labeled line blends sensibilities.
Product Lines
The Vita-Pure Cleansing Milk for sensitive skin uses beauty-industry staples Vitamins E and A, but it also includes extracts of linden and bisabolol (known for its anti-irritant properties) to optimize your skin’s likelihood for suppleness. The hydrating line, for those extra-dry dolls and those wanting to stave off fine lines, includes the Lotus Flower Ginseng Toner. You may feel zen just reading about it.
The Men’s Line uses key ingredients like aloe vera, balm mint and the manly-sounding coltsfoot in products like Post-Shave Soothing Gel and the Line and Pore Reducer (yes, even after the hysteria of the metrosexual craze, men are still thinking about their skin in different, more caring ways).
Clean and Pure
On its website, Extra Virgin Body Products talks of "microbiologically testing" both the raw materials it uses as well as its finished products to ensure purity. While this phrase sounds like it may be better suited to chemistry class jargon than to a process fro developing beauty products, it means clean and pure are of highest priority. And that’s good for skin.
While no amount of moisturizing or lathering can keep our weather- and city-worn skin as beautifully smooth as a babies bottom, Extra Virgin Body Products are a pure and simple way to enjoy the attempt.
