Obie Award-winning writer/director Alex Timbers infuses dark comedy into “Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson,” the historically accurate story of a larger-than-life character, Andrew Jackson, as he rises from a humble background to battle the British, Spanish and Native Americans, while the Democratic Party, along with populism are brought to the Americans.

Throughout this time, though the country was already transfixed with Jackson, shameful events including the Trail of Tears occurred.

"Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson" will star Anjali Bhimani, Will Collyer, Diane Davis, Zack DeZon, Erin Felgar, Kristin Findley, Jimmy Fowlie, Patrick Gomez, Sebastian Gonzalez, Will Greenberg, Greg Hildreth, Brian Hostenske, Adam O’Byrne, Matthew Rocheleau, Ben Steinfeld, Ian Unterman, Benjamin Walker and Taylor Wilcox.   

Music and lyrics are by Michael Friedman, associate artist with The Civilians and Obie Award winner for Sustained Excellence in Music.

Previews begin on Sunday, January 13, 2008 at 8 p.m. and run through Saturday, January 19, without any performances on Monday.

The show opens on Sunday, January 20th at 4 p.m. and runs through Sunday, February 17. Tuesday-Friday performances are at 8:00 p.m. Saturday performances are at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday performances are at 1 pm. and 6:30 p.m.

There will be no performances on Mondays and no 8:00 performances Feb. 5-8 due to student matinees.
