Netflix Offers a Chance to Sample Classic Films on Web Video

Cash for your car

Netflix“Netflix Now Playing ‘Down in Front with Dana Carvey,’” is a unique chance to celebrate some of the world’s most classic films by viewing samples on web video.

This Internet video is free of charge and will be available this Friday and Saturday, October 12-13. Featuring various clips from these movies, viewers will also see Dana Carvey’s humorous take on these film classics.

Netflix is also offering the option to view a full screening or individual pieces of any of these films through real-time playback technology. Real-time playback will allow you to view the film at virtually the same time it is being delivered to your computer, a vast improvement over the lengthy time it usually takes to download such a large file. In 30 seconds or less, you will be able to begin viewing your chosen film, much like Netflix members have been able to do since the company introduced its instant watching feature earlier this year.

The following films will be included in this screening:

From Warner Brothers Films
· “Gorillas in the Mist”
· “North by Northwest”
· “Singin’ in the Rain”
· “Soylent Green”
· “The Excorist”
· “Rio Bravo”

From Sony Pictures:
· “Five Easy Pieces”
· “The Way We Were”

From NBC Universal:
· “Harvey”

From Paramount Pictures:
· “Jackass”

From 20th Century Fox:
· “True Lies”

Beginning at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time on Friday October 12th and going through midnight Pacific Time on Saturday October 13th, you can view this sample of classic films by logging on to www.netflix.com/netflixnowplaying.
