Luxe Hotel Hosts For the Love of Shopping Charity Event

Cash for your car

For all the fabulous shopping this Tuesday there was a conspicuous lack of dropping thanks to plentiful beverages on hand and a great display of elaborate desserts at the Luxe Hotel in Bel Air.  These people know what they’re doing – a plate piled high with creamy and chocolaty treats was just the fuel I needed to get my shop on.

Among the many vendors was Onna Ehrlich with her trendy handbags made of lush leather and crocodile skin (no, it’s not illegal) from Europe and Africa. The designs are inspired by Africa and Onna donates a portion of her proceeds to Amnesty International and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. www.onnaehrlich.com

Yoga Army’s playful and sexy clothing was a popular display. Their soft stretchy fabrics embellished with metallic motifs are all designed and manufactured here in the US.  It was easy to see why so many celebrities like Lindsay Lohan, Jessica Alba, and Kristin Cavallari have joined the Yoga Army Revolution. www.yogaarmy.com

The La Bijou Belle table included classic bridal designs, funky 1950’s Lucite bracelets with vintage clasps, pendant necklaces and earrings made from vintage flea market findings. www.labijoubelle.com
I picked up a sassy Valentine’s Day card at the Celebration Cards table and to go along with it, a fancy red thong from Peepshow. Along with their selection of lingerie, Peepshow wisely offered Just In Case, a discreet little package for those unplanned moments of romance.

Celebration Cards also make custom, handmade invitations for all occasions. Creative Director, Pam Bloch, will work directly with you to create your one-of-a-kind invitation.  www.celebrationcards.com.

With the latest fashion trend of low-rise pants, there was the unaddressed issue of what panties to wear with them. Fortunately, Peepshow chrystallized thong underwear came to the rescue. Created initially for the descriminating women of Los Angeles who wanted to complement their sexy low-rise jeans with equally sexy thong underwear, Peepshow offers panties that are not only alluringly fetching but ultra-comfortable. They offer a wide assortment of colors and styles in the softest satin, mesh and cotton. Underwear isn’t just for under anymore. And keep your peepers open for their new camisole line, coming soon. www.Peepshowltd.com.

After all the free pastries the last thing I needed was a cupcake, but the Delilha Bakery display was so enticing I couldn’t resist. I got one to go and ate it the next day. Delilah’s is a traditional Southern bakery that just opened in Echo Park. Watch out Sprinkles. www.delilahbakery.com

The LUSH table was offering handmade soaps, cosmetics and products for face and body. All products are handmade with fresh, natural ingredients that are not tested on animals. www.lush.com

We wandered over to The Blue Jeans Bar to check out the denim on display. At their store in Santa Monica you can sit at wooden bar and order up your favorite jeans from over forty different styles. www.thebluesjeanbar.com

Although tempted, I decided to pass on the Marani Spirit cocktails that were being served and opt for a Mojito Island virgin mojito since I had some writing to do.  www.maranispirit.com, www.mojitoisland.com
I rushed home and tore into my Goodie bag to find coupons for 30% off Leanna Lin jewelry, complimentary eyebrow shaping by Raisa Laser and Skin Care, 30% off services at Epitome Salon, a sample of Lush Dream Cream and a bottle of Exhale body lotion. www.leannlin.com, www.epitomesalon.com
Raffle prizes included Limited edition Betty Boop items, Tattooed Steel jewelry, Tsubo Shoes, Forplay lingerie, $500 worth of certificates for consultation with top cosmetic surgeon Dr. Anthony Griffin and three free cut and style coupons from celebrity stylist Lauren Arlington at Dej Salon.  www.bettyboopstore.com, www.tattooedsteel.com, www.tsubo.com, www.griffinmd.com, www.forplayonline.com

Celebrities such as Eve, Julia Verdin, Samantha Lockwood who was recently on the cover of Ms. Fitness, Phoebe Price, Joanna Houghton, host of AMC’s Datenight and singer/actress Marisa Lauren and were in attendance.  A portion of the evening’s proceeds went to The American Heart Society.
