All Bets On Trifecta Lounge: Grand Opening A Success

Cash for your car

Trifecta Lounge kicked off its highly anticipated grand opening Wednesday night, entertaining over 200 guests who arrived in style on the red carpet around nine o’clock and satisfyingly departed a little past midnight. Cameras flickered and heads turned incessantly as one celebrity after another posed for pictures with guests, then squeezed into what is now undeniably LA’s premiere sports lounge.

Trifecta Sports Lounge

Trifecta has created a refreshingly unique sports atmosphere from its chocolate leather banquettes and cream-colored table cloths to VIP rooms and sleek decor. It redefines "race night" with Grey Goose Martinis, remoulade-kissed jumbo shrimp and kobe beef burgers. Developer, Hardball Productions, hopes to appeal to sports fans while seeking a more refined experience–sorry, no foam fingers, or beer helmets here! Once greeted at the door, you’ll find the cozy bar and its congregation squired by mixologist Jason Ellis who flips more mugs than Brian Flanagan.

The Trifecta dining room

Down a few steps, and to the left, sits a spacious dining area furnished with ottomans, leather couches, and armchairs to dine and relax in style. The area comes complete with a fabulous view of the Disney Concert Hall. With its confident design and unique concept, Trifecta offers LA something which simply doesn’t exist: an ultra-exclusive sports lounge that may seem a little posh, but it’s posh with a pool-table.

During its invitational opening night, patrons gossiped while sipping vodka & cranberry, nibbling hors d’oeuvres, and oggling fifteen, 50 inch plasma televisions, on which the Clippers branded the denged-up Chicago Bulls. Other than Lesa Amoore, the most impressive visual of the night took place on one of three 8 x 25 ft. multi-projection video units revealing some old Laker glory punctuated by some jaw-dropping Kurt Rambis performances. Despite its spaciousness, there’s not a bad seat in the house as each screen is more than accessible from any location.

Debra Wilson, Cliff Skelton, Nicholas Gonzalez, Regina King

To compliment the technological art, more traditional visual pleasures hang venerably above patrons with artistic renderings of Roger Staubach, Magic Johnson, Mickey Mantle, John Riggins, and Babe Ruth depicting each star gazing admiringly above toward the 20 ft. ceilings and extra large, modern lighting fixtures which opens up the appeal below. With Trifecta’s capacity around 300, it’s spacious enough to host the majority of corporate functions and special events, yet small parties of 40 people will still feel like they own the place. A private VIP room sits almost unnoticed in the back of the lounge also furnished with chocolate leather seats and a flat screen plasma television. Rumor has it that XBOX and PlayStation are among a few of the game systems available allowing guests to join in on the action.

Mark Wystrach, Courtney Hansen, Tyson Beckford

Most of the stars inside created enough light as Tyson Beckford hung by the bar and put out the vibe by handling a few Coronas and Sala Baker of Pirates of the Caribbean II enjoyed conversation with a few friends. Chris Jericho, professional wrestler and author of a new memoir The Lion’s Tale, spoke highly of the lounge promoting its stylistic appeal while ruminating over the possible unification of all three projection screens. Andy Dick & Co. made an appearance. Steadied by an entourage, he and his crew mingled over seared tuna and spicy chicken while enjoying more than a few libations.

Chef Will Gotay

Other celebrities enjoying the festivities included: Steve Valentine, Efren Ramirez, Rex Lee, Cassandra Hepburn, Joseph D. Reitman, Erica Rose, Cher Tenbush, Lesa Amoore, Melissa Mojo Hunter, Alana Curry. Each guest received a complimentary gift-bag, not to mention a variegated drink selection featuring Peroni beer, wine, and Stockholm Krystal martinis and finger-foods like seared tuna, spicy chicken dipped in pineapple ranch sauce, and jumbo shrimp prepared by chef William Gotay.
