Billion Dollar Babes, the gold standard when it comes to premium sample sales, made its return to Los Angeles with style for a two-day weekend fashion blowout in late Septmeber. Young starlets flocked to the Sony Pictures Studios atrium where they could scoop up the latest designer clothing and accessories at outrageously discount prices.
The shopping paradise attracted the likes of actress Julie Delpy of ?Broken Flowers?, Elisha Cuthbert of ?24?, Kate Mara of ?Zoom?, Ethan Embry of ?Brotherhood?, Busy Philipps of ?Love, Inc.?, ?Laguna Beach?s? Tessa Keller, Megyn Price of ?Rules of Engagement?, Victor Webster of ?Charmed?, and actress Courtney Peldon, as well as LA?s most fabulous ladies, with the promise of coveted items from top-tier women?s contemporary clothing and accessory designers. Some of the fabulous goods included items from Sass & Bide, James Jeans, Geren Ford, Jenny Packham, Jenny London, Edward An, Lotta Stennson, Binetti, Eva Franco, Burning Torch, KAROO, Margaret O?Leary, Ya Ya, Seychelles, Anya Hindmarch, Calleen Cordero and Oliver Peoples, and many other top designers.
The event was defiantly not for the timid window-shopper. Bargains were everywhere and those with the swiftest shopping talents swooped in for the greatest deals. Elisha Cuthbert walked away with not one, but three pairs of Sass & Bide ?Frayed Mis-Fits? denim, and of course all were in different colors. Ethan Embry, who was filming his new film ?Vacancy? with Luke Wilson on the Sony Pictures lot, stopped by during a break from the shoot. He tried on several pairs of sunglasses before leaving his wife?and his credit card?to finish up the retail therapy while he went back to work. Also witnessed at the sale practicing some heavy purchasing power were Paula Abdul?s stylists. The perky Idol judge was unable to attend, but that didn?t stop her style team from hitting the Billion Dollar Babes racks with her credit card to stock the star?s closet with the latest red carpet-ready fashions.
Bargain-loving shoppers were able to purchase merchandise still available in stores?but with up to 80 percent off the current retail value. The Vogue-sponsored event also featured complimentary hair consults by celebrity favorite Rodney Cutler, a fully-stocked hosted bar offering the ageless favorite Tab Energy, Amstel Light, Margaritaville, Hint Water and Little Penguin Wines. It was the ultimate networking shopping party.
With this incredible event, Billion Dollar Babes proved once again that theirs is no ordinary sample sale ? it is a stylish event of epic proportions. Since its first sale, BDB has become a worldwide fashion phenomenon, with exclusive invitation-only events in New York, San Francisco, Chicago, London, and Dublin, Ireland.
