The West Coast Style Show, formerly the Los Angeles Interior Design and Antiques Show is fully on it?s way to becoming the West?s leading upscale art and design show.? This year it was housed at the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium from November 10-12, presented by Caskey-Lees, who have produced an array of fine art, antique, Asian and tribal art exhibitions throughout California, Arizona, Chicago, and New York.? While bringing together paintings, sculptures, accessories and antiques, this event showcases unique and eclectic items available for purchase at a wide range of prices.
Since the West coast has been known for it?s creativity, avant-garde culture, and the potential for design and art to blossom without traditional restrictions, the West Coast 
Style Show has made it a priority to elevate and celebrate the West?s talent on local and international levels.
The show provides hand picked, unique pieces that cannot be found in high-end chain stores.? ?West Coast Style? is an opportunity for the public to view and purchase antique and contemporary art, accessories, and furniture directly from design professionals.?
On Saturday, November 11th, The West Coast style Show featured three different lectures on design-related topics and design tips for home or work locations.? From 11:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m., ?Fear of Trying? was presented by Lesley Kushner of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) with tips on how to work with designers from the start to finishing of a project.? Later, from 1:00 p.m. ? 2:00 p.m., Sarah Lynch, Executive Editor of California Home and Design Magazine, was on hand to present ?Indoor and Outdoor Living?, a workshop on how to utilize space and maximize good weather.? The Last workshop of the day, ?An Inside Look at O at Home?, was presented by Home Decorating and Design Editor of O at Home Magazine, Suzanne Slesin from 3:00 p.m. ? 4:00 p.m. discussing various ideas at home decoration.
An exhibit by Mo-Fin, a joint effort by long time art and design industry professionals, Edward Mock and R. Thomas, caught many a passer-by?s eye with their beautiful handcrafted? “Root Stools” from Java.? Mo-Fin specializes in primitive and tribal art forms, globally influenced furniture, and accessories with an organic aesthetic.? Mo-Fin seeks to enhance the way people live today by combining all of these diverse elements in a clean and modern way.? Spectators of this exhibit were able to examine furniture influenced by cultures from all around the globe from the decorative wall ?Jungle Vines? from Laos to the ?Megalith Standing Stones? from Matawan.? Some pieces I especially liked were the ?Found Wood” sculptures from Thailand and Cambodia and the ?Guardian Figures? in humanistic forms from Kalimantan and Timor.?
