Groove All Stars: Yamaha’s Renowned Drumming Event

Groove All Stars20 of the world’s best drummers will come together on January 19, 2008 for the legendary Groove All Stars Concert, presented by Yamaha Drums.
The concert, which is always a hot ticket in town at the annual NAMM musical instrument industry convention, which takes place in Anaheim, is open to the public this year
Taking place at the Cerritos Performing Arts Center, house band will be backing the drummers, who have worked with some of music’s biggest stars. Drummers include Tommy Aldridge (Ozzy Osbourne, Whitesnake), Keith Carlock (Steely Dan), Gerry Brown (Stevie Wonder), Tom Brechtlein (Chick Corea), ), Wolfgang Haffner, Akira Jimbo, Russ Kunkel (George Harrison), Teddy Campbell (Rod Stewart), Shannon Larkin (Godsmack), Oscar Seaton (Lionel Richie), Ndugu Chancler (Miles Davis), Antonio Sanchez (Pat Metheny), Jerry Marotta (Peter Gabriel), Dafnis Prieto, John “JR” Robinson (Michael Jackson), Chris Parker (Bob Dylan),  Russ Miller (Bobby Caldwell), Tony Verdarosa and Dave Weckl (The Dave Weckl Band), along with some very special surprise guests.
Rick Marotta will serve as the master of ceremonies for the event. No stranger to the music business himself, Rick has not only composed the theme to “Everybody Loves Raymond,” but has also recorded and toured with music legends James Taylor, Steely Dan, Jackson Browne and Paul Simon.
The Groove All Stars Concert takes place on Saturday, January 19, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. at the Cerritos Performing Arts Center located at 12700 Center Court Drive in Cerritos.
