Bryan Meehan, founder of Fresh and Wild (UK’s equivalent of Whole Foods) launches his health-conscious skincare line, Nude, on September 18th and 19th at Barney’s in Los Angeles. Bryan Meehan will be at Barney’s all day on September 19th, available to the public to meet and greet the public.
Inspired by the realization that while most health-conscious women make an effort to shop at places such as Fresh and Wild, they would refuse to purchase any beauty products at these same health food shops. Instead, most women opt for the chemically enhanced, preservative-filled beauty products sold at major department stores, thereby putting on their skin exactly the things they work so hard at keeping out of their body.
Nude, a high-end beauty line made with the safest and healthiest ingredients available, creates the perfect balance that most women would long for. Not only will you look chic and natural wearing these Nude formulas, you’ll feel great too. The products are all biocompatible, meaning they utilize natural ingredients that work with the skin’s inherent biology.

Meehan’s goal was to create products that would protect the skin’s natural protective barrier, defending the skin from external damage while providing the perfect environment for microflora (the skin’s good bacteria). As a result, the products will also keep the skin moist and hydrated.
Department store products, which most women flock to, by contrast are loaded with chemicals that harm the skin’s protective layer while in turn causing premature aging.
Nude formulas will also utilize pre and probiotics to help rebalance your microflora as well as strengthen the acid mantle to prevent further moisture loss and revealing healthy, younger looking skin minus all the lines, wrinkles, inflammation and dehydration.
Providing your skin with plenty of botanicals and other natural ingredients, (including cupuacu, manketti, baobab and avellana), your skin will feel properly nourished and much more healthy. Causes and signs of aging are also targeted with this skin care line, with the products containing a variety of peptides, phyoactives and bioactives.
Although organic ingredients cannot be used exclusively, this line does make a point of staying far away from ingredients not deemed the safest and healthiest for the skin, including parabens, sulphates, PEGs, propylene glycol, TEA, DEA, phthalates, mineral oil, silicones, GM and potential carcinogens.
With specific products and regimens for dry, normal, oily, sensitive or aging skin, the line is meant to be suitable for everyone, regardless of your age or skin type.
Packaged in recyclable square-edged, rubbersized bottles and jars, the nude line is perfect for the woman who wants to appear modern and chic while also remaining conscious of the environment. Buying one of these products as a gift? Not a problem. The gift bags, boxes and stationary, all made with the same goal in mind by a “carbon neutral company,” are recyclable as well and printed with non-toxic inks using green energy.
The products- which cost anywhere from $34- $100- will launch in the U.S. in September 2007 at Barneys New York. In an unprecedented retail rollout, the line will also become available at Whole Foods Markets in six months time.
