For nearly a century, The Apollo has stood as one of the most important cultural institutions in American history. Since opening its doors in Harlem in 1934, the venue has played a central role in elevating Black artists, shaping music and culture, and serving as a catalyst for creative and civic life. On Saturday, January 31, 2026, The Apollo marked a new chapter by taking its legacy beyond Harlem for the first time with the launch of The Apollo x Kwanza Jones Presents: Culture In Motion™, a national roadshow created in partnership with artist, entrepreneur, and philanthropist Kwanza Jones.

The roadshow debuted in Los Angeles during Grammy Week, transforming The Beehive into a hub for live performance, storytelling, and community engagement. The launch signaled an expansion of The Apollo’s long-standing mission, shifting from a single, historic venue to a mobile platform designed to bring cultural programming directly into communities across the country.

A central feature of the launch was the unveiling of the SUPERCHARGED® Boost Bus™, a custom-designed mobile space created to carry the energy and spirit of The Apollo x Kwanza Jones into neighborhoods nationwide. Conceived under the creative direction of SUPERCHARGED® by Kwanza Jones, the bus functions as a rolling cultural hub, offering space for artistic expression, discovery, and connection. The Boost Bus represents a move toward greater accessibility, emphasizing that culture does not need to be confined to one stage or one city.

Culture In Motion is rooted in Kwanza Jones’ SUPERCHARGED vision, which focuses on creativity, empowerment, and forward-thinking cultural access. Through live performances, storytelling, visual art, and immersive experiences inside the Boost Bus, the Los Angeles stop delivered programming aimed at inspiring creative participation and fostering intergenerational connection.
