Los Angeles’ Teragram Ballroom, a cornerstone of the city’s independent music scene, is entering a new chapter with the appointment of Molly Majorack as its new talent buyer. The move signals a continued investment in artist development and venue collaboration across the Teragram Presents network.
Majorack steps into the role with a strong track record built across Southern California and beyond. Most recently, she handled bookings throughout Orange County, working with venues including the Observatory and Constellation Room in Santa Ana, the House of Blues and The Parish in Anaheim, and the Riverside Municipal Auditorium and Fox Performing Arts Center. Her experience spans genres, markets, and artist levels, giving her a clear understanding of how to move acts through increasingly competitive circuits.
Her new position places her in close collaboration with fellow Teragram Presents venues, including The Bellwether and Moroccan Lounge, alongside buyers Jordan Anderson and David Murphy. Together, this trio forms a connected pathway for emerging artists, offering a more strategic progression through Los Angeles’ layered live music ecosystem.
Before relocating to California, Majorack built her foundation in Washington, D.C., where she booked U Street Music Hall for I.M.P., the company behind the renowned 9:30 Club, and later worked across multiple venues for Live Nation. That background continues to inform her approach, blending local scene awareness with a broader national perspective.
Michael Swier, founder of Teragram Presents, welcomed the addition with clear enthusiasm. He described Majorack as someone whose reputation is widely recognized across the industry, noting both the respect she has earned from collaborators and the accolades attached to her name.
Majorack, for her part, sees the role as a natural alignment of personal and professional passion. She describes the opportunity as a dream realized, combining her connection to Los Angeles with her dedication to live music. For her, the appeal of intimate venues remains central, that distinct energy that keeps audiences and artists coming back. She is eager to bring that same sense of magic to a room as storied as the Teragram.
She follows longtime talent buyer Scott Simineaux, who is stepping away after more than a decade in the role. Swier credited Simineaux as a defining force behind the venue’s identity, calling him both a steadfast advocate for the Teragram and a trusted friend, while expressing confidence in his next chapter.
Located on the edge of Downtown Los Angeles and Westlake at 1234 West 7th Street, the Teragram Ballroom continues to hold its place as one of the city’s most respected mid size venues. Its reputation has been built on consistent programming, artist trust, and a loyal audience that values both sound and atmosphere.
The Teragram Ballroom
A Legacy Built on Independent Music Culture
For nearly three decades, Michael Swier has played a key role in shaping live music culture in both New York and Los Angeles. After establishing Bowery Presents, he went on to develop and operate influential venues including the Mercury Lounge, Bowery Ballroom, Music Hall of Williamsburg, Terminal 5, and TV Eye in New York.
His move to Los Angeles in 2015 marked the launch of the Teragram Ballroom in partnership with entrepreneur Joe Baxley and architect Brian Swier. The expansion continued with the opening of the Moroccan Lounge in 2017, quickly becoming a go to showcase space, followed by The Bellwether in 2023, developed in partnership with Another Planet Entertainment as a larger scale music and nightlife destination.
The company’s impact has not gone unnoticed. The Teragram Ballroom was named Best Live Music Venue in Los Angeles by LA Weekly in 2016. The Bowery Ballroom earned top honors from Rolling Stone as the number one rock club in America and was previously recognized as Nightclub of the Year by Pollstar. Beyond awards, Swier has also been acknowledged by community organizations for his role in preserving and supporting local music culture.
Artists who have performed across his venues reflect that legacy, ranging from icons like Tony Bennett, Lou Reed, and Radiohead to global acts such as Lady Gaga, Coldplay, and Metallica. The throughline has always been consistent: a focus on quality sound, thoughtful programming, and an environment that keeps audiences coming back.
With Molly Majorack now in place, the Teragram Ballroom looks positioned to continue that trajectory, strengthening its role not just as a venue, but as a launching point for artists navigating Los Angeles’ ever evolving live music landscape.
Teragram Ballroom is located on the border of Downtown LA and the Westlake neighborhood at 1234 West 7th Street Los Angeles, CA 90017.
