Entertainment Trends In Minneapolis

Visiting a place is an experience; however, not a lot of people are willing to go somewhere just to be able to say that they’ve been there. A lot of people can’t be bothered to visit the place just for the sake of it or in order to get bragging rights. Instead, they need a guarantee that the place is going to be fun. Now, there’s no way to get this kind of guarantee, so the next best thing is to come up with a list of “fun” things you can do while there.

Here’s a brief list of some of the latest entertainment trends in Minneapolis and some “fun” things you can do while there.

Outdoor Activities

There’s so much to see and do around Minneapolis for anyone willing to go outside and take some fresh air.

This doesn’t have to be anything extreme since you can just enjoy a scenic walk through Loring Park. This means that if you’re currently downtown, you’re just a brief walk, and there’s no need to take a route that’s too far out of your way.

Then again, there are a lot of lakes and parks throughout the city where you can kayak, paddleboard, canoe, or even ride a bike next to. Of course, this is best done in summer, mostly due to the unforgiving Minnesotan weather.

Generally speaking, the Chain of Lakes is one of the selling points for outdoor entertainment in Minneapolis, and it’s an opportunity that you should definitely not miss out on.

If you have a pet, you can take them to the Minnehaha Off-Leash Dog Park. This, in particular, is what makes Minneapolis one of the pet-friendliest places on the continent.

Amazing Local Cuisine

Minnesotan food doesn’t get as much credit as it deserves. Sure, many people assume this is just an American take on Nordic cuisine, but it’s so much more than that.

The street food alone is a good enough reason to visit the place. One of the best-known endemic street foods is Juicy Lucy. The simplest way to describe it would be to say that it’s the Minneapolis variation of a cheeseburger. The biggest difference lies in the fact that instead of stacked one on top of the other, both the cheese and the patty are diced and mixed together. This does more than just change the texture; you have to try it to understand where we’re coming from.

Minnesotan pizza doesn’t get as much credit as it deserves, either. Sure, when it comes to discussing Pizza in The States, there are two cities that take the cake – New York and Chicago. However, you would be surprised to learn that Minneapolis isn’t lagging that far behind. Surly Brewing Co. easily got a score of 8.3 on One Bite Pizza Reviews, and this is just one of many such places around the city.

Minneapolis Nightlife

When it comes to nightlife, you would be surprised to learn that this Minnesotan metropolis doesn’t lag behind any of its more iconic counterparts. Regardless if you want to spend a quiet night at the bar, dance the night away, or enjoy a cabaret party, a suitable venue won’t be too difficult to find.

Moreover, it’s quite hard to find a city in the US with more distilleries and breweries than Minneapolis. If you decide to change parameters slightly and start comparing the number of these establishments per capita, you’ll find none. So, if you’re a sucker for homemade and craft beverages, there’s no better place in the world to visit.

If, by any chance, you get a chance to visit Minneapolis during game night, you’re in for a treat. There are a lot of sports bars around the city, and the local fans are some of the most passionate on the continent. Watching a live game from one of these bars is probably going to turn into an unforgettable experience, regardless of the outcome of the game. If you’re lucky, you might even have a chance to witness a major sports upset of the kind that makes sports history books.

Going on a Tour

Finding an organized tour to go on can be a great structured way to sample as much of the city as you possibly can.

The thing with exploring the city on your own is that you’re actually facing the challenge of self-managing your own time. If you’re a tourist, it’s really hard to figure out the local commute times and ETA. It’s also very difficult to understand how much time you should allocate to each location on your list in order to get to see them all. With an organized tour, you can have someone else (someone with a better understanding of the city) make these plans in your stead.

Some of the best options are the Magical History Tour, Minneapolis Queen Tour, and Paddle Bridge Kayak Tours. Now, for people who are more interested in entertainment and less concerned with sampling the culture, Pedal Pub seems like the best place to start.

Shopping

For a lot of people, when it comes to the fun activities ranking system, nothing comes even close to shopping. Well, since there’s no sales tax on clothing in Minnesota, this is arguably one of the best locations on the continent for you to go on such a spree.

Sure, you can buy wherever you encounter a store, but if you really want to go on a shopping spree around Minneapolis, the best place to start is around the North Loop. Here, there are so many great boutiques that you’re bound to enjoy.

At the same time, there’s no talking about shopping in Minneapolis without mentioning Mall of America. This is a massive shrine to capitalism and one of the main reasons for Minneapolis’ tourist draw. It’s a massive mall that can fit 7 Yankee Stadiums.

Sure, if you set your mind to it, you could make a list of fun activities for every place in America. With Minneapolis, you don’t even have to think too hard. No list would be elaborate enough to mention everything worth doing in this metropolis, and if you still don’t believe us, we suggest you come down and check for yourself.
