Tips for Road-Tripping With Your Fur Baby

Tips for Road-Tripping With Your Fur Baby
Cash for your car

There is nothing better than riding on an open road with your friends, family, and fur baby while exploring new adventures and singing along to your favorite songs.

Many people don’t consider road-tripping with their pets because it may be too much of a hassle, or their accommodations do not welcome pets. However, you can forgo the stress and bring your pet along with proper planning and preparation! Here are some tips for road-tripping with your fur baby.

Purchase a Pet ID Tag

Before going on vacation, take a trip to your local pet store to buy your pet an ID tag if you do not already have one. The pet ID tag should include your pet’s name, as well as your home address and cell phone number. Make sure to always keep it on your pet’s collar during your trip.

Take Frequent Breaks

Taking frequent potty and exercise breaks is one of the simplest ways to ease your pet’s anxiety and boredom. If you are embarking on a long journey, find a rest area every few hours and take a 20-minute break to let your pet sniff around.

Every time you stop, offer your fur baby some water; it’s easy for them to get dehydrated on long car rides.

Go Easy on the Snacks

While road-tripping, it is easy to snack on the road as you take in the scenery. However, you should not overdo it when feeding snacks to your pet. Traveling with a lot of food in their stomach may not be the best for your pet’s digestive system and can upset the stomach and cause illness.

Invest in a Pet Car Seat or Crate

You should ensure that your pet is safe while traveling in the car by investing in a reliable pet car seat, crate, or hammock. This will reduce the chances of your pet sliding or running around while you drive.

When trying to choose the best crate for your dog, for example, make sure you select the right size to keep them safe and comfortable.

Find Pet-Friendly Hotel Accommodations

This might seem obvious, but do not wait until you arrive at your destination to ask if they are pet friendly. Before making your trip, ensure that your destination will welcome your pet, and be prepared to pay an extra fee for your fur baby.

This summer is the perfect time to go on adventurous trips with your friends and family, but do not count your pet out! Use our tips for road-tripping with your fur baby to prepare for your next road trip with ease.
