According to Ultimate Motorcycling, there are more than 12 million Americans who are active bikers. L.A. isn’t just a hustle and bustle city, there is a diverse landscape to explore in the area, and on a motorbike, it is easy to see the sights that the City of Angels has to offer. From the neon lights of the Sunset Strip, to a tour of the Pacific Coast Highway, there is definitely plenty of opportunity in L.A. to “get your motor running, and head out on the highway!”

On The Snake to The Rock Store

The Snake is a particularly windy and difficult section of the Mulholland Highway in Malibu. It leads to a renowned L.A. motorbike bar, The Rock Store. Make sure that you make note of the speed limits and local laws, as there are some rules that are unique to California, such as the practice of lane splitting. Talking to legal experts on this matter would be a smart move, because a motorcycle accident lawyer will be able to advise you on keeping safe on the road, to prevent injury to yourself or others. The Snake is not a road for novice bikers, and the turns are tight, so you will need to concentrate on staying in the lane, but the view is worth it. The Rock Store has a great restaurant, and you might even spot Jay Leno there from time to time.

Mulholland Drive

Riding Mulholland Drive will give you an iconic experience of L.A., going right through the heart of the city. The best place to start your ride out is Cahuenga. From there you can follow the road into the scenic hills above Encino. By following either Coldwater Canyon or Laurel Canyon, you can then cruise back into L.A., taking in the view of the valleys on the way.

Sunset Strip to the Pacific Coast Highway

This is a ride out that epitomizes California and is a great experience on a summer’s day. Start out on Sunset Boulevard, and you can ride past the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel on your way to the coast. The roads are windy, but nice and wide – an easy ride. When you get to the Pacific Coast Highway, head towards the colorful Santa Monica Pier and park up to grab a snack from the concession stands and have a go on the Ferris wheel.

Los Angeles isn’t just a busy cityscape. There are some amazing roads to enjoy a ride out and see the glorious sights of California on a motorcycle.
