Concrete leveling is a process that attempts to level out an uneven concrete surface by slightly changing the underlying foundation on which the surface sits. Concrete leveling can be done with hydraulic lifts or rollers, and it can also be done by hand using heavy equipment.

Traditional Method of Concrete Leveling

The old-fashioned way, often referred to as the manual method, involves making several smaller holes in the ground at regular intervals and then lining up the newly poured concrete to the corresponding holes. Then these new slabs are placed in the gaps, and after some time, the whole lot is compacted together. However, the manual method involves a fair amount of manual work and is not that much more effective.

Here are some steps involved in the Concrete lifting or leveling process.

Step No.1 Excavation

For the first stage, the area that needs to level needs to be excavated, and the local foundation repair contractor in Columbia may suggest that you excavate a more giant hole and spread out the earth so that it is level. If you are doing the job yourself, the first step involves leveling the land with heavy rock and leveling the soil using the equipment. Once you have done this, it is only a matter of excavating to level the area where the new slab will be laid.

Step No.2 Drilling the Holes

The second stage includes the digging of the holes. Remember that it is essential that you do this very gently and that you do not injure yourself while doing this. First of all, the contractor will dig the holes using a truck-mounted crane, while you will use smaller equipment.

Step Np.3 Filling the Holes

Once you have the initial holes drilled, you will fill them with grout slurry and then set the concrete slab on top of it. You may want to consider using some flexible piping or duct tape to level the bottom of the concrete. Then when the concrete has cured, you close the top.

Concrete Slab Jacking for Leveling the Surface

If you are using concrete slabs for your projects, the process is pretty much the same. For the first stage, you will have to pour the ground material, including cement, around each hole. Then you will use a drill to reach the top of the project, where you will place the concrete slabs.

Make sure you have enough space to accommodate the new slab and that you have poured enough cement to cover each hole completely. Concrete Lifting Contractors Columbia can increase the concrete leveling cost by making additional holes in the ground to accommodate more concrete slabs.

After the new concrete slab has been placed, you will repeat the concrete leveling process until all extra dirt has been smoothed out. At this point, you will need to move the slab, which will require you to stand on a special trowel and gently slide it over the area you have finished. You can then pour the grout slurry over the newly leveled surface.
